Why do I feel like this headline is trying to provoke an uproar?

@Kornaholic

Only if that feminist is called Anita Sarkeesian. By definition, feminism is actually more about reducing gender disparity and not about making everything pro women > pro men.

But some apparently think otherwise because they didn't do some research.

Yeah, I just wonder if Bioware can even make a good story if they discard their romance simulator at this point. Since ME3 and this all the press has been interested in upon release is what it offers for gender equality and romance options.

I'm so tired of the internet and its sexism vs feminist schlock these days. I can't wait until gaming gets real again.

Since the mainstream has caught on to gaming there's still plenty of people who are just not aware enough of quality.

I'm not buying this game.

Because of their publisher, Activision.

I know EA forces their online infrastructure systems and frostbite on most of their developers nowadays because it's "in-house" and cheaper for everyone involved and part of what makes frostbite profitable is that it's built to scale well with weaker hardware, so the desire to use frostbite and thus having cross-gen games is a big desire for EA, one could assume, looking at the facts. I reckon it's just the same he...

I spent 110 hours in Skyrim when I decided I wanted to stop and there were so many questlines and areas I hadn't found.

I wouldn't want any game to be bigger than skyrim because I know it will just amount to "quantity > quality".

I hope ME4 will have some uncharted worlds though, like in ME1 that are almost pointless but they add to the atmosphere and believability that you're in space and there are still many mysteries.

As long as the single-player is amazing in itself then I'm content. I don't actually mind if online somehow intersects with some of the SP content, as long as they don't gate single-player progression to multiplayer like they did initially with ME3.

I'm not convinced of anything until I see it though. ME3's combat was a good foundation but one they can't just reuse and expand upon now that they're using frostbite instead of Unreal.

Since DA2 I've been mildly confused as to what a "true dragon age game" even is. It has a game-design identity crisis through and through.

The only thing keeping it together is the narrative.

Sometimes restrictions can benefit creativity, but for anyone hoping to see that next gen Super Mario Galaxy successor anytime soon this is disappointing news.

I'm a little worried with Iwata calling in sick so many times for important meetings over the last year. The first time I laughed because I thought he was just being silly about it, but then it turned out he had that pre-cancerous mass in him and I'm worried his latest absence has been due to post-surgery recovery not going well.

I don't care what happens. I just don't want Iwata to get seriously ill.

Shepard from a writing stand point is not even well written neither was the overarching story of the Reapers in the end.

What made Mass Effect amazing was always the setting and of course the characters as well but the companions and romances much more so than Shepard himself.

I do agree with this article that with the ending of ME3 wrecking the setting itself by destroying the relays and potentially invalidating any diversity between machines and organics ...

I will play it if the story is worth it. I crave for a new action game that isn't a complete waste of storytelling. I feel like it's been ages since that happened.

4009d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Exactly. 3/10 is something you give when a game is either broken or terrible right down to its core. For all it does wrong this game does at least look well-defined and plays exactly how it's designed to play with almost zero bugs.

4009d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I could live with 5/10 for someone who's really harsh when it comes to rating the narrative, but to give a GAME 3/10 just for having a bad story and an overpromising mechanic that can't live up to its idea, when the artstyle is great and clearly defined, the graphics are great, the music is good and the game feels more polished than any telltale game ever did... then you're clearly underrating this flawed gem.

I'd give it 8/10 personally. I can see all the fla...

I do agree with Sarkeesian's overarching viewpoint but she's basically an attention whore and I think she's not being intellectually honest about a lot of things for the sake of creating controversy and self-pity. I'm not one of those that she uses as an example to portray "how everyone in gaming is" who says "Fuck you, die bitch!" or whatever, but I strongly disagree with her way of dealing with her chosen subject. I think it's intellectually dishonest...

Oh god. I don't even need that. DA:I was already oversized for the amount of good content it had. It felt like they had overdesigned the game from a level-design perspective and then went "oh crap. what are we even gonna put in these areas?" and they ended up putting mindless sidequests with almost zero narrative in it.

The fact that only 2 or 3 out of 7 areas actually have main-quest content in them is just terrible IMO. I like non-linear singe player campaigns...

Mass Effect? Are you kidding me? It's a perfectly straightforward plot. The alien robots are going to kill advanced civilization every 50k years. Stop them.

Well the final 10 minutes of ME3 makes the plot needlessly convoluted but really, in the grand scheme of things I don't think it's overly complex.

Mass Effect 4 isn't out this year. 2016 will be the year to prove EA doesn't have an iron-grip on their developers and their products aren't rushed.

What's even out this year? FIFA 16? Battlefield Hardline? I'm not really feeling the hype.

4015d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Once again. A concept that sounds cool, but it's gonna be exploited like crazy either by EA themselves or once Ubi, Activision and etc. get their hands on the concept.

Here's hoping I can play the first hour of Mass Effect Next and then when I pay for the rest of the game, I actually get the entirety of the rest of the game... no BS included.

Why are you repeating their PR talk? The hell, it won't "redefine" anything. That's hyperbole.
