I prefer my local friends over 60fps or online gaming. My friend is the guy with an XB1 but he's said he's not buying H5 now that split-screen is gone. 343i ruined Halo, unsurprisingly. Halo 4 left me and my pal with lukewarm feelings anyway. At least MCC is still fun enough in split-screen.

Who cares? It has no place in the game anyway. We don't need to see how A ties into B in this case when it's only a 20 minute gameplay segment of standard Batman combat and a Boss fight that isn't really a boss-fight, and narratively it would've been out of place to open the game with the player controlling Harley Quinn.

As I see it it's just fluff that should've been cut alltogether.

Doesn't top Nintendo 2004 though. I'm still waiting for that to happen some day.

No. He's dead for sure or he's the Arkham Knight.

It clearly used it as a metaphor for Batman losing something because Joker was always sort of a part of Batman and it implies Batman has become vulnerable and this game's story will be quite a struggle for his character.

It's all in the character motivations and resonating with emotions we go through in real life. All of this are the building blocks of a good plot too.

Kinda. If Bioware's next-gen only games like mass effect 4 and their new IP doesn't hit home then it's over for them in my eyes, but having beat Witcher 3 two days ago I have to say I was a bit let down by some things within the story ultimately. The final act in The Witcher 3 has kind of poor choice/consequence integration and literary-wise it's just not a good ending. Not broken like ME3's but it's the same vibe of "wtf happened?" when the credits starts ro...

Dunno about whether they actually "pander" but I do see it. I don't think it's inherently a bad thing though.

Mass Effect is the reason I love and hate Bioware. Used to love 'em, but they just don't get it anymore.

Wow, then you would really hate ME3.

I liked the first one a lot but many parts, especially regarding presentation and gameplay felt sluggish to me. ME2 felt less amateurish but like you said, it became too actiony, designed for consoles first and foremost and it skimped a bit on open-endedness.

ME3 was just painful for me to get through though. Writing was awful from start to finish, with a few really good subplots in between but the autodialogue, the comple...

It's disappointing to hear devs talk about graphics and map size and shooting bad guys when what I really care about, in Mass Effect, is its story, setting and roleplaying. Gameplay is cool too, but you just can't impress me with map size boasting after Dragon Age Inquisition.

The "it will never work on PS3/XB360" argument just makes me facepalm. That is patronizing. Everyone knows the game would not run on last-gen systems looking like that, but it still doesn't look like the mind-blowing next-gen titles that i felt Oblivion (for instance) was back when it was unveiled in 2005 or something. It was the first time I had seen such great tech in armors reflecting light that way and so much foilage density in an open-world game.

Fallout 4...

I thought everybody knew Witcher was based on its polish novels.

Ever since Tretton left I have had anxious feelings towards what Playstation would become in the next 5 years. We still don't know but I'm starting to think it's already starting to go downhill.

Remember, sales figures and their successful PR from last year doesn't have that much influence in this discussion. It's more about how much support they get from third parties and how they treat their first party studios.

I know, if they start rus...

This just reinforces my skepticism. I don't really like trilogy bookends that go too big in scope. They usually lose believability and class along the way too :(

Holy shit I am excited, now. I hope it's some kind of contemporary setting or sci-fi and not another Medieval RPG.

An expansion pass for content that's yet to come, mind you, and it's gonna be several downloadable expansions IIRC. No day-1 DLC that's not free.

So, scarecrow racetracks with helicopters and explosions and just about everything that works against a creepy scarecrow atmosphere. Wow.

Another moment that is just direct in contrast to Dragon Age Inquisition. In all the moments where they share similarities, DA:I made me cringe and Witcher 3 had me hooked.

I've heard very good things about AC2 though. I agree AC1 was mediocre though and the rest I simply don't bother with. The moment I saw they made more games after 3 considering all the spinoffs as well I just knew this was another CoD-like franchise that had been robbed of whatever soul it may have had in the past.

To be honest I think they downgraded the PC versions because all 3 versions had to share a lot of the same code, so they couldn't make the PC have the same assets as in their target render while running with the downgraded stuff on PS4 and XB1. It would be like making 2 different products at some point. We have to remember that a all versions are just ports. In a sense you could call it parity, but it's not that the PC version was deliberately made to look worse because they wanted PS...
