Sound is a huge contributor, but even when you turn the sound off I found this game to be super eerie just because of the visuals.
Looks much more real when you're seeing it rendered real-time and without so much brightness, to me.
I have to wonder though. Kojima says this was "toned down" yet it's running 30fps and it looks more real than any other PS4 game I've played. What's that gonna mean for the final release? Seems to me like this was already pushing the hardware.
I also wonder if Zelda will ever be as good as it was before TP anytime soon again :/
Recycled but in 1080p and 60fps is good enough for me.
Totally ruins it when the guy on the left has played it already and just spoils the surprises for the guy playing :/
I think both will be 900p but PS4 might have better render distance for certain things.
Yes, we want Eli as the main character in TLoU 2, HEEEEERP
If the story wasn't so darn bad I would buy this in a heartbeat. I'm craving for more survival horror but I don't care if they have shit storytelling. Amnesia and Machine For Pigs are probably the only good blends of shocking horror and good narratives.
I agree. It looks like something out of a Wii game but in 720p instead so it looks slightly sharper. The game's reveal trailer wasn't this downgraded either.
TBH I don't even think the music in Land/World is amazing. I think it completely undermines the charm of Mario.
I much prefered the mix of full orchestra and synthesised themes in the Galaxy games to the Land/World Big Bland stuff.
Which wasn't true. MP was more like CoD and otherwise had some poor balancing at launch, the campaign was ok, but very short compared to the other games.
The reason Destiny has many pre-orders is because we all wanted in on the beta. I'm still considering to cancel mine.
I'll die happy if this ends up being a definitive Next Gen DBZ fighting game and not just another DBZ cash-in.
Burst Limit played great and even though I'm used to 60fps in Budokai 3, it didn't bother me it wasn't that in BL. I don't care as long as beams and explosions look hot.
It's like as of late, the whole internet has been super depressing. Every board I go to has discussions about framerates and resolutionsgate issues. But I guess there really isn't a lot to talk about because the next gen hasn't properly started yet. I barely have anything to play on my PS4 yet.
Might as well play some SM3D World on the Wii U in the meantime :-P
My friend asked me about whether it would be stupid to buy an Xbox One after I bought my PS4. I told him "no", because his TV can't even output true 1080p. I think it's 1366:768 even though it can display the 1080p signal.
Check your tvs. The whole resolutionsgate problem of Xbox One might be completely irrelevant to you.
As much as I'd hate to see Nintendo just go mainstream and do mobile games and sell out and all, I think we can all agree Iwata has been very conservative. It might be holding the company back very seriously. It could be their doom in 10 years or so unless they really do have a trump card.
Indeed, if the visuals are not rendered directly by the console it's not impressive. It's kinda like how I hate watching CG trailers. I know this is different, but the original Halo 2 had some great in-engine cutscenes, so I would've prefered if the same went for H2 Anniversary, like with H:CE Anniversary.
And especially if in-game is 60fps and cutscenes are 30fps. That bugged the shit out of me when I played Mass Effect 3 on PC.
Ubisoft has a say here as much as any other person. That has no relevance anyhow, because they are right to point that out. Nintendo has started to lose some of their touch with certain franchises, I feel.
Mario and Zelda for instance. The latest two entries of either franchise felt somewhat sterilized IMO, even that cool kid in the class, ALBW
