When others hear these negative rumors and believe them, it turns them off of buying the console and convinces them to turn other off of buying the console.
This leads to less consoles/software bought. That leads to less support. This leads to lower quality games and smaller amounts of games.

The thing I find the funniest is that there are absolutely no Sony drone comments. I guess there is no way the can spin this since the Wii U just topped every Sony sytstem available in Japan.

He is the one that pointed out that the early games that people were trying to use to bash the Wii U were only running on one core and made in a small amount of time.
He was also the one who started the suggestion that the Wii U may have a dual graphics engine meaning that its performance is twice whatever it is on paper.

Unlike Sony fans, PC gamers and Nintendo gamers don't stalk news about their rivals to bash them whenever something negative comes up or to kick dirt up and boast about their console when something good happens.
If I don't care about a console, then why would I be following and commenting on news for it?

There are also even more substainable rumors that the Wii U got a clock boost to the GPU and CPU before launch.
The dev kits were reportedly 400 Mhz and the Wii U GPU is 550. The CPU was reportedly 800mhz and the final is 1.24.
Regardless of any rumors or on paper specs, its clear by things like Trine 2, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed 4, Watchdogs, COD Ghosts, all first party games and now Project C.A.R.S. that the Wii U is far superior to the last gen consoles.
Doesn't matter whether or not the rumor is true or not. We know the Wii U is a lot stronger than the PS3/360 and we know its not as strong as the "year more advanced" PS4 and Xboxone.

In case everyone has forgotten, Nintendo owns the rights to publish DQ outside of Japan, so even if they did release it on the PS4, it would not be coming out anywhere but inside Japan unless it was on a Nintendo system.
Texture resolution and shading detail are still higher than the last gen versions though.
This has more to do with Activision just being cheap on porting than the Wii U's strength. Splint Cell had no problem doing higher resolutions than the PS3/360 version of the game ontop of a higher, more stable frame rate on top of outputting to as second screen in 480p widescreen.

The Wii U has been nearly devoid of shovel ware compared to "all" of the other consoles. Its mostly received nothing but big name titles which is why there are so few games on it. Big name titles take a long time to make.
