but then again almost every char in that Game looks cool. Durag wearing ex-cons fighting Dreadlocked bosses = win.
This is one game I'm actually more psyched for than God of War III (which is scary considering that God of War is one of my favorite franchises).
Naughty Dog + PS3 = Genius
A 299.99 PS3 will really allow me to listen to a podcast w/o it coming up every other second. I'm no business man, but if Sony can drop the price and not go bankrupt then I'm all for it.
I mean how else can you explain the sales numbers? The install base is rather substantial, but sales continue to be significantly lower for PS3 games with only the occasional exception.
Hardware
767k - Nintendo DS
362k - Wii
241k - Xbox 360
165k - PlayStation 3
164k - PSP
153k - PlayStation 2
And for those of you that seem to always forget, please remember that Sony has 3 consoles on the spreadsheet. So before you write your doom and gloom articles and post them on the examiner, just remember that Sony isn't reliant on the PS3 as it's sole source of revenue.
Seriously? It's the cheapest of the three and still not outselling the Wii.
because 360 is selling higher than the PS3? Wow, with logic like that I guess anything can be said to not exist if it sells better than its competition.
It's a Mac book pro and even with the education discount it was almost double what I would've paid for a PC. The only reason I went with a Mac is because almost everyone I know that has one has had no problems with it and I'm pretty sick of the blue screen of death.
But on topic: I thought the MS ads were genius. Apple wants to portray Windows owners and chubby nerds while Mac owners are slim young people so why can't MS fight back by showcasing it's biggest advantage over a Mac...
The ability to use any HDD I want? Check.
The use of blu-ray movies? Check.
Free online? Check.
Reliability? Check.
Sony exclusives? Double Check.
360 is a great console. But to me the choice is PS3 hands down. Maybe if I wasn't about all the extraneous stuff and strictly games I would lean to 360, but as a gamer in his late 20's I really appreciate the extra stuff my PS3 does.
Tidbit #1080: PC crashed. Transfered all my music and vid fi...
Give me a break. All these bashers can simply ignore the PS3 and Sony forever as far as I'm concerned. The PS3 is one the best consoles I've ever owned. It's okay to demand more from these companies, but in an age where Nintendo still uses Wii codes and MS still charges an annual fee I can't believe people don't, at least, cut Sony some slack.
Back to playing the games I go.
God was one of us....
if either Tretton or Stringer even hinted at a PS3 price-cut it would freeze sales or, at the least, cause sales to drop substantially. It's bad enough that almost all of the big sites sound like Sony has to cut the PS3 price and now. Some are even saying that a price drop is guarenteed this fall. Unless Sony wants to sell no systems between now and whenever they do drop the price, they have to take this position.
and Guerilla is quickly becomming one of my fav devs as it seems like they're committed to supporting the game and listening to the community.
I really hope the game gets a second advertising push this holiday season. It really deserves to do mega mega numbers.
but in the long run the PS3 is cheaper. That is unless you don't play games online.
But on topic: I think Sony may be neck and neck with Live, but until we have cross game chat and/or a party system, I can't declare it the better service. I give a large amount of credence to Sony's PSN being free. That really was a huge factor in me choosing a PS3 over a 360. I can't tell you how many multi-console people I know that let their XBL account expire because PSN is free.

Cuz I'm picking up motorstorm pr right away. Updates have been a little small lately. Guess this is the summer slow-down period.
stories of Sony losing billions and billions; stories about Sony releasing a new Playstation home console within 1-2 years; stories about Sony cutting the price and releasing a new sku soon,....
care to add on?
For a console that's apparently doing so badly with gamers, it sure does seem like all the gaming sites make nothing but Sony news.
but if I can talk to friends while playin a game online then I'll be all over it.
Happy to see they're listening to the fans and trying to give us what we want. Can't wait for part 2.
I spent 550 for a launch sku 60gb, I don't know how much on the 13 plus games I've bought so far, and not to mention the HD TV I bought.
In sum, I'm not buying a new console until 2015 at the earliest. Especially after seeing the price drop, improvements to interface, functionality added, and games available after a console launches.
Anyone else notice how robust PSN is now? There's so much stuff on there now it's insane! Tomorrow I have to decide between KZ2 DLC, Wipeout DLC, or whether I'll finally get Flower.
Best part is I still get to play any of the above online w/o paying an extra red cent to do so.
