haven't seen one 360 game that touches Uncharted 2. Killzone 2 blew the comp away and Uncharted 2 picked up where that left off. Heavy Rain may raise the bar again.
all the features you get with PS3, the graphical prowess, the fact that the PS3 is newer hardware than the 360, free online, blu-ray, etc AND it's available at 299.99. Scary.
Imagine if Sony does this right. Uncharted 2 will drop your jaw when you see it. What kid isn't going to want Eye Pet? GT5 in Europe and it's game over for MS in that region. It's almost like Sony undid all those mistakes when it dropped the price to 299.99.
BS. You pay because if you don't you can't play games online. So when Modern Warfare 2 or whatever game you're looking forward to comes out you HAVE to pay that fee if you want to experience what some consider to be the best part of the game. The fact that you get those features is a plus, but really you're paying cuz you want to play games online.
I can't believe you guys. You make gamers appear like an abused spouse or something that takes a beating and comes back for more. An...
are the reason why MS will continue to overcharge for that Wifi adapter, HDD, and released a system they knew had hardware problems. You condone actions that others just find to be deplorable. It was okay to charge for Live when PSN was grossly inferior. That is not the case anymore and PSN is actually equal to, if not better than, XBL according to many. There's no justification for charging for live and as long as you defend MS for doing so they will continue to do so.
Batman has some hefty comp. Infamous is going to get some consideration (though the fact that it came out so early in the year will probably hurt it). Then there's Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Forza 3, and maybe even GT5.
And I do want a sequel to Batman AA. I'd love to see these guys do this type of game again but this time with all of Gotham City open to explore.
Jaffe knows games are expensive. He's not saying people shouldn't have the right to buy a used game. He's not saying Gamestop or whomever shouldn't sell used games. But he is saying that those stores should give something back to the devs?
Sorry but that sounds like mob tactics to me. Threatening to go to DD to get around this is an empty threat. Unless MS and Sony start selling their hardware directly off their own websites they still have to appease the brick and mortar stores...
They got their money off the initial sale, no? Maybe if a brand new game didn't cost so much people wouldn't sell as many games. And there are other situations where buying a used game over new makes sense.
For example, I recently purchased Fallout 3 used off Ebay.I refused to buy it new because the PS3 version was buggy as all heck and lacked trohies. It made no sense to pay 59.99 for the game new when the game is almost a year old. If the dev had made a game that wasn't a bug ...
You spin better than Bill O'Reilly. MS is milking us dry and it's time they learned that it's not cool. Overpriced Wifi, overpriced HDD, charging for an online use, and the hardware is still the most faulty. Enough's enough. 360 would be an awesome system but MS' practices are really disgusting.
I guess you didn't read my entire post but that's essentially what I was saying. Sales are still much higher than the other two consoles so there's no real need to drop the price. BTW I didn't disagree with you.
No need for you to say you're getting the 360 version. I don't think you'd be silly enough to get the PS3 version considering you don't own a PS3.
It's in a league of its own. Take that how you will but the fact remains that the Wii has left Sony and MS so far behind that it really can't be said to be competing with them. It's audience is, by and large, not the same audience MS and Sony are targeting. 360 has been available at a sku cheaper than Wii for almost a year and still hasn't outsold the Wii nor made a dent in its sales.
Might have to get an elite
I meant Agent. Practically the same name for both games. Sheesh
No?
that's it. That's what they have to do. I'd buy a 360 today if Live were free. With every firmware update PSN is closing the gap. As is I think the only difference between the two is cross game chat and party chat. Not worth 50.00 per year IMO.
In a year at the absolute most it's going to be silly to still charge for Live as PSN will undoubtably have all its features and maybe more for free.
MS really carved out a nice slice of Sony's pie if you will. But Sony has ran console gaming since the PSOne dropped. For some of you I imagine that's most of your gaming life.
At 299.99 and going feature for feature, I think the PS3 gets it. Looking at current library and future library I think the PS3 gets it as well. But this generation has just been crazy and no one knows where the much talked about PS2 base went. Maybe they all bought Wiis?
I say we all sit ba...
Is that a serious question? MS has shown since they first came into the console arena that they want to surplant Sony. While you or I may not agree with some of their practices, securing 3rd games that were once exclusive to Sony, securing timed exclusivity and permanent exclusivity on major 3rd party games is huge, advertising is one of MS' strengths, etc etc.
MS is ready. It saw what happened in first half of 08 when Sony was the same price as the elite and 100 bucks more than...
sounds like a charmed life my friend. If you're in NYC I'd like to come by and bask in the glory of three PS3s. That is unless you're this guy:
but I still can't believe we're at 3.0 and still we have no cross-game chat, party chat, or cross-game invites. Any one of those features would be a major shot across the bow. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the features available thus far and only one of the aforementioned features really interests me. But given how almost every comment on the ps3blog about firware states the people want those features, you'd think it would've happened by now.
