299.99 for PS3 is a bargain compared to 299.99 for an elite. Blu-ray, freely changeable harddrive, free online, exclusive Sony games coming by the boat loads, etc etc.

GTA4 was amazing to me but I didn't even do all the side missions for Niko. I'm sorry but I only cared about DLC if it was an additional island (e.g. Vice City or San Andreas). Extra missions wasn't worth it to me anyway even if it's extra missions involving two different chars.
I'd rather spend that money on something else like God of War 3, Assassins Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, etc.
Sorry to say but that's no longer revelant. The original Xbox was a tank (compared to the 360). It didn't break and you had to go out of your way to break it. Now MS is known for making a faulty console. No one is giving them a pass because the first Xbox was so reliable. The inverse is true for Sony. Don't be mad. It's not our fault MS is charging 50.00 a year. But yeah, cross game is definetely in the works. I'm fine with PSN as is. What I really want is custom avatars but I guess that's never happening. Hopefully these avatars coming in 3.0 will be awesome.
but why are we (PS3 only owners) sweating this guy? He doesn't want to make games on PS3? Fine. No problem. Not like there's a shortage of games on the system. That hasn't been the case since 07. It'd be nice to have L4D and a version of the Orange Box on par with the 360 version but with all the games available I'm really not even missing those games. Truth be told, they'd be gameflyed at most.
but like ape said, if trophies are there it only adds to the game. What's wrong with that. I loved COD4 and it had no trophies. I loved KZ2 and went after the Elite trophy and when I got it I really felt like I did something. If they only add to gamer's enjoyment and don't detract from others, I don't see the problem with them.

but I don't get why the people that aren't get so huffy and puffy about it. Lame? Really? Was entering your name in an arcade when you got the highest score lame? Was checking the leaderboard periodically to see if your score was still the highest? Cuz trophies/achievements are essentially that.
And it's not like anyone says you have to care about trophies. No game requires you to take a trophy quiz or enter the exact number of trophies you have.
I hope this allows me to check out other people's trophies.
Now I'm going to buy my second PS3 before I get my first 360! joking

Good post. You're about the only guy I can respond to on this that I know won't get in a fanboy huff and puff.
I hear all your points and I'm sure all those features are awesome. But, and maybe I'm alone on this, they're just not that important to me to justify the annual fee. I can play the game online, I can talk to people, and I rarely experience problems playing a game online.

If I could play games online for free on Xbox I'd own a 360 by now. Too many games coming to pay to play online. If MS continues to charge for it's online service then the original xbox may be the last MS console I ever buy.
