and, consequently, kill the demand and anticipation of their biggest IPs. I'm in love with the Modern Warfare games. I know that many of you hate them but I'm hooked. One of the reasons why I'm hooked is that I get to enjoy the newest iteration of a Modern Warfare game for 2 years before the next one drops. Now look at Guitar Hero. Holy crap. By the time you buy one it seems like another one is dropping in a few months. Rock Band is doing it right. Let it "marinate" for awhile as so...
It's not the perfect game. But it was an entertaining experience. That's all i need.
Written by Aaron Greenberg? Yeah, no conflict of interest here.
Not my preferred type of gal but she's def not ugly. Sessler knows his stuff. He's one of a few guys who's review I'll read from start to finish.
Morgan lost a little credibility when she was a raving xbot but I won't knock her for it too much because that was the popular thing to be back in 07 and for part of 08.
It's sold out on Bestbuy and Amazon. In fact, Amazon has it going for like 370.00 from some other sellers. Really bad timing....especially when God of War 3 is set to drop. Could this be manufactured supply constraints to raise demand or has PlayStation fever taken hold of the country?
Really glad I pre-ordered that ultimate edition. Planning on selling it for 3x the money as it's sold out on most sites. I'll re-buy the regular edition, but when something is going for almost double it's market value I have to act. It's like when I bought a Wii in '06 just to sell it on Ebay for almost triple what it was worth.
Reviewers crack me up sometimes. DarkSiders got knocked for trying to incorporate gameplay elements from other games. They said it was a mash up of a bunch of great games (noticeably Zelda with even a Panzer Dragoon segment). But then, and here's the crazy part, God of War 3's second paragraph is essentially knocking it for not doing anything new that people that aren't fans of the series will like. We all really need to stop being innovation snobs. If you're not a God of War fan than I don't...
Sony continues to set the standard. 3rd party devs take notice. This is what the machine is capable of. Every year Sony continues to push the envelope on whats possible. The only downer for me is that this is possibly the last God of War game featuring Kratos. I can't wait for this one to drop.
Last year Killzone 2 proved the impossible. This year God of War 3 is doing the unthinkable. Next year I'm sure we'll be talking about another Sony exclusive that's just head and shoulder...
Man, you give me Heavenly Sword trophies and Mgs4 trophies and Im a happy guy
if there is one. Gotta have Kevin Butler screaming I will have my vengence while dressed up as Kratos at the end.
I'm with you man. Playing Fallout 3 was probably the worst thing I could've done if I planned on getting FFXIII on day one. While FFXIII will blow it out of the water in visuals, the dialogue and story of Fallout 3 raised the bar so high that I don't know if I can go back to a JRPG. Really debating whether I wait or cop it right away.
hard to think IGN doesn't have one slim PS3 around the office that this guy could've played on.
And I think 360 owners are the ones really getting ripped off there. Unless you bother to read the whole review, I think most people just look at the score. So imagine you're debating which system to get it for, you see it gets the same score on both systems, so you figure they're even and you buy it for 360. Then when you get home and pop the disc in your 360 you hear a voice yell out "Gotcha!"
I'm surprised they didn't break into laughter.
"Jason and Vince were employees, not SLAVES. They can consider the idea of shopping their talents around if they see fit, create their own company if they choose, as long as they met and fulfilled the requirements of the orignal agreement between themselves and Activision."
Exactly. And if that agreement contained a non-compete clause, or had some sort of provision restricting their ability to talk to a company like EA, then those guys are in breach. Hard for most peop...
Knew they were having a midnight launch for it a while ago. But why is the game not being released on a Friday? It would be great if I could get the game and enjoy it all weekend rather than not being able to really get into the game for four days.
when a PS3 game is inferior to the 360 version of the same game, it rightfully receives a lower score. I mean, reviewers have to be honest, right?
But when a 360 game is inferior to the PS3 version of the same game, well there's no point in nit picking and it's only right to give both games the same score?
When 360 goes down for a whole flipping week (essentially) it's because of unexpected sales and the media basically gives MS a pass but when PSN goes down for one ...
Great pic
when MGS2, FFX, and GTA3 came out. It was like gaming heaven. And GTA3 was just so evolutionary at the time. Good times. Thanks for the memories. Looks like the PS3 is going to do the same.
With FFXIII, GOW3, the GTA DLC (told you I'd wait for it), and the amount of games on my backlog (Dark Siders, Bayonetta, etc), I can wait until the end of April.
For some reason knowing 360 owners have the DLC first doesn't really detract from my fun in MOW2. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the game, imo, is to get my kill streaks going. I'd be nice to have to new maps to play on and to hopefully not play Wasteland as much, but it's not something I can't stand to wait for ...
