You say they need to launch a developer friendly system? Well the PS2 wasn't developer friendly at all and we know how that turned out. And as we've seen with COD4, it's not impossible. In fact, Ratchet, Uncharted and KillZone (graphics only) are proof that the PS3 is very powerful.
shouldn't be a problem this time because Sony plans on using the PS3 for another 8 or 9 years. So if Xbox "3" comes out in 3 years, that's still a lot of PS3 life. This means they won't have to worry about beating Sony to the punch again. This doesn't mean I won't wait to purchase their next console just to see if the hardware problems are there.
like they did the original Xbox?
It's not unfair at all. They clearly say "coming soon." As in COMING SOON. Not out next week! Unfair to advertise games that are coming to the system early next year? You make me laugh. People still get to choose what they want. I think you're just scared that most people, given a choice, will opt for MGS4 instead of the overhyped Mass Effect and the Halo 2.5, ahem, I mean Halo 3.
C'mon man. The system came out a full year after the competition AND it came out with a much higher price point. Brand alone will not carry you under those circumstances. In fact, I'd argue that it's because of the PS brand that the system even did the numbers it did in year one. Let's face it, it went against Gears, multi-plats usually looking better on 360, game delays, lost exclusives, and it still didn't tank. Stop trying to spin this as negative news for Sony.
is that a self-portrait?
ANyway, amazing how you lems use that "it'll be old by then" stuff but when it's the other way around, e.g., UT3, you guys say "at least it's coming and HAHA it's not exclusive." C'mon man. Make up your mind. You can't have it both ways.
and now there's almost too many. COD4, Heavenly Sword, and now Assasins Creed and Uncharted will be my latest additions and I've beat none of them. loving it. Can't wait to get some time to sit down and plow through some of these games.
but this is Sony who is synomomous with console gaming. They'll right the ship. KZ, FF, MGS4, UT3, White Knight, GT5, and many more will set the course right.
this: I'm a PS3 owner and I love my system and don't regret my purchase at all. I just think Sony could have made it a little easier on the devs had they bridged the system's RAM. COD4, R&C, Killzone, FFXIII and Uncharted (drools) all show the system's power/potential so at this point it may be a non-issue for devs. But had the memory been similiar to that of 360 (unified), I think we'd see the PS3 blowing 360 away now and not 2 years from now.
not having online for VF5 was a real deal breaker and the fact that 360 gets it is an insult but some side deal must've been cut by MS because, as we see with DR, online fighting is possible on PSN. Still, Tekken 6 looks prettier than VF and I don't see why it wouldn't be online. 360 has peaked my friend. PS3 is on the rise.
try in-game buddy. PS3's power is coming to fruition and you xbots can't handle it. GT, FF, MGS4, Uncharted, and with COD4 showing the 3rd parties are getting it, the games are only going to look better. 360 is tapped out and we all saw what the Wii can do (remember Xbox anyone?). PS3 runs the tables from 08 on.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot about Killzone 2. lol. The power of PS3 is almost scary.
but even that is getting over modded. You can't even hint that GS is biased or you're suspended but when they give out reviews a full 2 points less than the average score something gives. I'll get my reviews from IGN and 1up. GS is for forum use only.
I never thought the game was racist. Now if he was dressed in a Klan outfit that'd be different. Glad to see Capcom isn't afraid to reach out with RE5 rather than give us more of the same. Perhaps the next one can take place in Tokyo.
This, and UT3, get my vote for AAA games for PS3 this holiday season. There are other games coming out that could do it as well but I'm thinking these are the two exclusives (timed or not) that will be killer aps for the console. Possibly Ratchet as well. 3 definite pickups for me.
That's the sound of 200 dollars being wasted for being an early adopter. The lesson is learned big time. Wait a year and you can enjoy all the games, not suffer a game drought, enjoy "Home", as well as a 200 dollar savings. Hmmmmm.....Nah! Nuts to that. Nothing beats the feeling of waiting in line and getting a console on launch day. Go Sony! Hope this move improves their standing in the market place.
I don't know why this one is getting so much hype. BTW, I speak only from the vantage of the gaming press in regards to how these games do.
what a thing to say. I guess we should go back to the ol' "eye for an eye" days. Whatever you do should be done to you huh? I think that's how justice is handled in the Middle Eastern countries that "we're spreading democracy" too /sarcasm off.
lol. But for the rest of us that are fans of EA's sports games this is pretty frustrating. I've had a boycott in effect on EA sports since Madden 08 was so bad and I'm going to keep it going until EA gets their act together and makes a PS3 versions that's at least as good as the 360 version.
then they should focus on showcasing the games first. Don't get me wrong, I love blu-ray, HD, and "online capabilities" (especially that they're free :P), but I don't think most gamers care about these things. Sony should release a clip of all their games coming next year and the games coming this year and have that playing in the PS3s in stores around the world instead of NBA 07 and the same old Resistance demo.
and can see both sides. While it was a little upsetting that none of the guys save the guy from the Xbox podcast owned a PS3 and they were really harsh on the system, I'd still like something critical and un-biased rather than something that comes off like a Sony marketing site. I dunno. There has to be a happy medium. Still, when the guys on the PS3 podcast are constantly talking about how much better 360 versions of games are whether it be because of achievements or whatever then something ...
