The packaging for 360 just looks all wrong for this game.
I used it for the first time yesterday and loved it. My PSP is now an extension of my PS3. That's very cool.
not the casual nor the hardcore. GTAIV is a cultural phenom in America. There are people who bought PS2s just for that game. The same will happen this gen.
but don't expect MS to stand pat on this. Expect a major ad campaign with the 360 logo at the end. Sony's going to have to unleash the next slew of PS3 commercials to counter this. Maybe show Resistance 2 footage, GT5, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, and (of course) GTA 4.
that's why I get Sony consoles. They listen to what the consumer wants and tries to provide it. I'm only a bit bitter because they had those shirts making fun of the situation at GDC and now here we are and still no in-game xmb. I guess it'll be available when Home is-sometime this summer.
BTW, I don't even want it to listen to a custom soundtrack while playing Burnout. I want to get all of my friends together in COD4 and in-game would make that all the easier.
PSN...
Anyway, I don't know why Sony would give us in-game xmb. I mean, it's only one of the most wanted features for PSN. I would have gladly taken in-game xmb over DVD upscaling or that snazzy Earth background while playing music (and I love both of those features btw). That's how much I want in-game xmb.
yeah yeah yeah....the retailers would not carry it. I know. I'm not saying it for that. I'm saying that I'd like to see what a GTA would be like w/o R* holding back at all to get to M. Either way it's a day one purchase for me.
I hope no one does something stupid and then blames the game for it. I really hate when that happens.
There's nothing but positives for the system. Both the immeadiate and the distant future is bright. The System has a long life ahead of it. It's archetecture allows it to be competitive for the future. PSN hasn't even touched its potential and its free.
Yeah, get it if you can. I'd wait for the MGS4 bundle but that's just me.
wow....not sure he was whining. I think he was joking when he said 50 gigs wasn't enough. ANd if he wasn't it was probably some form of spin to underhandedly praise PS3 whilst simultaneously slighting the 360.
You can have any opinion you want but have an opinion. Telling us all that we shouldn't waste our time on it is neither saying you agree or disagree; it's telling us what you think should be post worthy.
Again, we all know the review is just an opinion. That's obvious. You weren't citing an opinion on the review, you were just saying that "guys it's an opinion so just move on." That was my whole objection to your post.
If an article doesn't interest me, I...
A B- for the game is still too low but I don't know how they do that conversion. A C- should convert into at least a 75.
Last time I posted on that site the answer was no. That was like when Uncharted was released. Anyone know?
Let's be real, no matter what it is you're not going to like it. So why all the interest?
"they don't RROD on the newer models" or "it's the consumers fault." Give me a break. Sorry MS but you could make the greatest console ever but if it malfunctions at such a high rate you'll never get my (and many other gamers) dollars.
and i don't even know the controls. I just got stealing bases down. Now I need to get it so that I run to second or third in some instances. Batting is a fine art and pitching is a chess match every time. I got one guy out with a sick curve ball and I was so proud of myself.
Has anyone struck out Matt Holiday? He's like amazing in that demo.
and everyone that agrees with Sony's decision on this one. This is evidence that 1up has some sort of agenda against Sony sports games.
don't try to deflate the entire discussion. We all know it's just an opinion. Thanks Captain Obvious. We're here to discuss those opinions. That is, in part, what a forum is for. When a game as good as The Show gets high scores almost everywhere save for the two places thought to have an agenda of some sort, well it's at least discussion worthy. If you're not interested in this discussion then don't post in it.
and I echo the sentiments of the author: kudos Sony. 1up is obviously biased against your sports games. Probably because you pulled pre-releases from them. Giving the game a B- is insane. I heard the last 1up yours podcast and Garnett and the guys were bashing the game for being a sim and not having an arcade mode. Give me a break. If I read a review of Madden that bashed it for being a sim I'd throw the review away. The game is supposed to be a sim!
I thought Hilary Goldstein w...
especially when the two players are almost identical in price. Want a blu-ray player? Buy a PS3. It has the 2.0 capabilities already and it's upgradeable so you can stay up to date.
I guess I agree with you. When Sony gave out the TVs with PS3s they were doing very poorly. I don't think you'll a Bravia given away with a PS3 anytime soon. They may have package deals but no free Bravias. MS knows how big this game is. Halo 3 did not bring in as many gamers as they would've hoped. Still a huge market out there waiting to play B3yong and Jump in. Which side they choose could very well be decided by this game.
