and installs were a worry of the past. I have more than enough space to accomodate installs and never have to feel crunched by certain games. I'd advise every PS3 owner to upgrade their HDD.
And I mean this in terms of mega IPs. MS had Halo and thats it. Gears is only tied to MS for Gears II. Gears III could very well go multiplat. As PSN improves the thought of paying for Live doesn't make sense. RROD is still out there. HD DVD went the way of the Dinosaur. And the games coming later on are...well...okay but when compared to Sony's lineup and the games yet to drop (FFXIII, God of War, Team Ico), MS doesn't have anything to show. Sony basically took that and ran with it. Yeah Home is like second life but it's really just navigating the menus in a 3d environment. I don't know how it'll work though. Will I be in a massive area with every other PS3 owner in my town, state, country? If so, how do I combat the weirdos that are sure to be there? If it's weirdo overload would I even bother? but 360 people already had custom soundtracks. That's all I'm looking forward too. Everything else is a plus.
and good for us. I cringe at the thought of anything happening to my 60gb sku PS3. For one because my data isn't backed up and two because I know that replacing a 60gb can be a real pain.
It'd be interesting to see. I know Nintendo isn't going to blow any of us away but MS and Sony could really surprise. If MS announces a price cut and some new software/IP then they very well could take the show.
Sony, as usual, has set the bar pretty high for themselves. But with some great looking games set to come and MGS4 already holding a special place in my heart forever, Sony also could take the show.

The RROD was a debacle unlike anything we've ever seen. Hopefully a little bit of humble pie will ensure this never happens again.
All the talking heads (looking at you Garnett Lee) whine about the lack of content on the PS Store. Put Afrika on there and that should shut them up...for about a day. Looks to be interesting. Pricing will be key with this.
I was thinking about that not too long ago. Personally, I'm indifferent. I know I'm not buying Star Dust just for trophies and it does kinda suck that some of my favorite games-COD4, Burnout, Devil May Cry 4, etc-won't get trohpy support. But it's okay. I know more games are coming and it's sorta cool to see what trophies my friends who do play Stardust have.
I loved the original (even though it didn't deliver on all the promises). Hopefully this can be that AAA RPG on 360.
but I'm a little cautious after what happened to Lucas Arts.

Good for you. Enjoy these years. Me, I'm working and i'll be starting law school in the fall so a little PSN downtime doesn't really affect me too much. Now if this was set to occur on a Saturday afternoon, I think I'd be a little upset.
Will be weird not having Phil there but oh well. Can't wait to see what Sony has coming down the pipes. God of War III for the win!

BTW, I didn't pick up StarDust but I have been messaging my friends like crazy. And added someone right there on the spot last night from COD4. Loving 2.40 so far. Can't wait for custom soundtracks and Trophies in more games from this point on.
That's how it's different. The Elite was supposed to be the one that worked. That's what all the extra money was for: a working console. Now this one is over heating? You can't make this stuff up. MS, I really hope you do something for all the people that have been inconvenienced by the RROD. IF these people support your next console then I don't know whether to pity them or laugh at them.
anyone know what caused it? You think it would have affected more of us if it were that severe. I heard something about it affecting people with less than 3 gbs of free space on their drive.
I'm holding my breath because I have the original 60gb model and do not want to have to go through Sony customer service and get a 40gb sent back to me.
