The difference is that many people will sign up for a free game. That doesn't mean all of them are actually playing. For example, I signed up to check it out. I count as a registered person but I won't play the game again. With WoW, they're counting everyone with an active subscription. Those people are much more likely to be actually playing.
I have to disagree. I thought GTA4 had some excellent dialog and thats what made the first 2 so great.
Im completely addicted to the game also. I just picked it up on a whim because it was advertised on steam and I couldn't be happier. Its not as robust as L4D, but to me its tons more fun. Playing lanned with buddies is what really makes it a blast.
Very true cgoodno. And on a unrelated note, the Venture Bros. is an amazing show.
Gotta say, I was pretty disappointed. The controls at first were unplayable for me. So MurederDolls isn't the only one. I did go back and beat it when the first patch launched that tightened up the look delay. I became much less disappointed when I bought uncharted. In my opinion that game looks better than KZ2, and the second will surely be the highlight (except for maybe GoW3) of console graphics. Plus the gameplay of the first was excellent.
Adding a third dimension makes everything from coding to level design much more than twice as complicated.
I thought I would throw out the fact that while many 2d games are great, Ive never gotten as addicted to any 2d game as much as a plethora of 3d games I have.
Im lvl 34, its pretty slow at that point. Although, I haven't played in a long time since I went back to gears 1 multi... I really hope the third gears feels more like the first and less like the second.
I was thinking the same thing. In recent years hes been pretty laid back. Its nice to see a little fire coming back into him.
I would say, yes, video game violence affects people. In the same way that a toddler cries if you take something they want away from them. It only affects people that have the emotional capacity of an infant. That is to say, if these people weren't provoked by video games, it would be something else. Don't blame video games, blame the people. Or, extrapolate further, why are these people the way they are? Because rest assured, the underlying reason has nothing to do with video games.
Good call Cookie, I went to install a game on my PC the other day and noticed it was on DVD9 so I said F**k that and broke the disk. DVD9 can eat my D**k.
Exactly, I had felt the need to post a few weeks ago pricing out a comp for 700 that can easily play crysis on max (its basically my build). They took it a step further and priced it at 500. Either way, you're getting better visuals than you'll get on any console. I know graphics aren't everything but they're nice and add to immersion. So as a PC gamer, I appreciate these articles peoples they actually do inform alot of people who think gaming machines are ridiculously over priced.
Well in his defense they are different. I have a pile of "illegal" music on my computer. But every game I own, which is quite a few, I've purchased legally. In a way what hes doing is a relevant stand. Game companies eat it from piracy. Enough to the point that they go under. Musicians (the actual musicians and not the labels) don't make much off their CD's and won't stop playing if everyone is downloading their music because those same people will still be attending their shows. Pl...
Your post is ridiculous. Im curious what constitutes a casual shooter. Seeing has shooters are always referred to as appealing to the hardcore. I suppose by your ridiculous logic gears and killzone are casual shooters and hence are not real games...
I was thinking the same thing. I don't really ever get viruses (except for brontok on my laptop and thats because I used an infected USB thumbdrive). Its as simple as having a nice hardware firewall. If your main PC is connecting directly to the internet then go use a Mac because you're foolish and will benefit from the extra safety. I wonder if the guys over at apple know that if they ever get a majority market share their machines are going to be just as virus ridden as any Windows OS.
Maybe, it might have cost 2k dollars to play this game on ultra high back in 2007 but, it doesn't take even close to that much now. A computer (and Im leaving the monitor out of this because people don't include the price of a T.V. in their console costs) wouldn't even be $1000.

Ya know, I've never really gotten the Vista bashing. Early on I got frustrated with the poor driver compatibility (had a hard time getting my sound card to work) but now I have zero trouble with compatibility.
@CrazedFiend
Why don't you just put an XP install on your video editing machine if you hate vista so much?
I could be wrong but didn't remedy only do the first max payne? I was under the impression that Rockstar made max payne 2... or maybe they just published it?
Well, one problem, you might have been playing the console version. As I remember (I could be wrong) but it played much better on a PC. Also I think what attracts a lot of people is its gritty film noire atmosphere and style. I for one am very excited and have enjoyed the previous 2 titles immensely.
As I understand it, on the internet it means quality while in dev terms it is literally the amount of money spent on a project. So undoubtedly in literal terms, these are triple A titles given the studios that are making them.
is a bit a bit of an overstatement. For one I'm sick of hearing from people that likely know nothing about programming a multicore processor that the devs are "lazy". Secondly, it's not that powerful because there's much more to a computing machine than the processor. For one, there's no guarantee that all cores on a PS3 are operational. Therefore you can't program anything with the notion that you will be using all 8 of the cells at a time. Thirdly, nothing that costs 400$ will eve...
