Im not sure why you're so down on western games, its not exclusive to American games which I could see you throwing objection too. Most of the technically impressive stuff is western oriented. Crysis being a very good example.
They did, in the honorable mention portion. Maybe not enough props but its mentioned.
Ease of use is very important and Unreal 3 has that. Its tool set is actually very good compared to other editors I've used. UnrealEd is a very nice tool. It does have its pitfalls of course, however those glitches you speak of are gameplay glitches for the most part, graphically it is really quite a nice engine to work with. Personally I would say the biggest complaint to file against unreal engine 3 is that they merely ported the netcode from unreal engine 2 rather than update it.
Im excited to see a great looking mod on the crysis engine. Looks very cool and I hope you guys keep up on your rigorous schedule so we can enjoy it as soon as possible.
I saw on you Moddb page that you were only looking for a few positions I take it you guys are full on level designers then? Regardless, very cool and good luck!
Both good points. This whole thing is a bit odd to me anyway because I can't stand censorship (on a government level banning things right out) but somehow this still seems wrong to me. Mostly due to the notion of some sick prick jerking it while playing the game. I don't however think anyone gets such extreme enjoyment from other violently edgy games, like Gears which was banned in Germany.
Yeah, Andy samberg is definitely the best. I do also like will forte though. But overall it just seems like the writing isn't as good as it used to be.
Could have sworn thats what it said and I was about to be up in arms defending system shock... thats what a couple of drinks will do to you I suppose.
Im with you oner. Not because I experienced delay but because it is an issue. Its not something that would stop me buying the game in the slightest, but certainly something that could make the online portion much less enjoyable. The fact is, flicking the control slick for fine tuning is very important in competitive online play. 167ms is actually a long delay for a game that is updating (assuming constant 30fps) every 33ms visually. Normally the graphics lag behind the input. For the game cyc...
My guess would be theyre going to wait to launch their next major title on UE4 which is in development atm. Can't say whether it'll be gears related or not.
Yeah, not to mention the poly counts in those is way to high for in game. However, whoever did that guile model is extremely talented. Actually, the blanka is good too, but that Guile is really impressive to me.
Yeah, and whats the deal with this guys attitude. I mean, there may not be a huge player base, but most certainly there are more than 5 people afflicted with this. I being one of those said "5".
Little guy got all worked up. You feel better now?
Its a glitch... perse. I mean whats a glitch anyway. The reason he can use the turret is because its a turret object in their engine. It would probably take more effort to make the turret unusable than usable. Regardless cool find, about to try it myself.
I didn't even think of that, very good example.
Seems to me it would be a lot easier to research a gun than to sum up an entire demographic with one character. Im not saying that they can't do better but I don't think cole train (as featured in the pic) isn'tdoing any injustice. Augustus Cole is basically just Terry Tate being himself. The devs said that to, they would just let him loose in a recording studio and about 80 percent of what is said was his own doing.
Plus the article said Eastern games do white leads well? Really...
I love Half Life. But you sir are a gentleman and a scholar so we shall have to agree to disagree. But I guess that article agrees with you a bit more on this one.
Although he said there are too few enemies and compares the enemy count to Mario. Forgive me if that makes zero sense since Mario has no story and HL actually adheres to a narrative. When a story is involved you can't just go all willy nilly adding ridiculous enemies.
First things first, it really bugs me how much people don't ever think on here. But honestly the point is valid (Im only referring to the aiming portion mind you, smart AI is cool with me). It may not be completely true, but what hes talking about is something is going to come up more and more as games get more sophisticated.
The fact is it is harder to aim in KZ2 than pretty much all the shooters Ive ever played (the gun has momentum). My opinion is that for a single player cam...
I was surprised, the game actually looked better than I expected. However was it just me or was it damn near impossible to aim well. I played through 3 times and while I can easily not die I feel like multiplayer might get frustrating with the delayed look push.
I just say because I was hoping maybe that I would get into this games multi competitively but it was just a bit off for me. Not knocking really because in a way it adds to the intensity of the single player, but I fear t...
Quick note slightly on topic, I see alot of mention how critics didn't talk about the broken gears 2 multiplayer. Well, I think that largely has to do with it being impossible for them to know about. Obviously the LAN portion worked fine and felt good. Im betting thats what they saw the most of. If they were doing matchmaking then it was also probably fine at the time since the servers weren't overloaded. Just wanted to point out that maybe they weren't being bias... just not thorough enough....
I think the thing is they couldn't claim it was in game (even though the graphics are very similar to that) because they added rendering effects and the scene was staged. That is, you won't see anything like that in game. Just like gears commercials were similar to in game but were clearly staged.
