Yeah, I feel like this is just wrong in so many ways. For one, mutoid man was not that hard to beat without dieing. Secondly, half these bosses were really well done...
Bubbles to a guy who openly admits he pirates games? I'm sure valve would really want to support someone like you. Go ahead and disagree with me, but pirating is a real problem in gaming.
The first Mad Max was called Mad Max here in the states while the second changed titles from Mad Max 2 to The Road Warrior. Agreed though, lame.
Also, in reference to the article. Im pretty sure you can't claim "the simpsons did it" every time a game from here on out takes place in a post-apocalyptic world just because Fallout 3 did.
How about, people who don't want to spend the money don't get it. Isn't it up to the person selling a product to determine what it's worth. The only reason most of you are saying you won't buy it is because you know you can pirate it.
I'll admit I think game price hikes are greedy with a title like this, but those who pirate it are no better than the greedy companies who practice such antics.
C-C-C-Combo Breaker!!
Because people like to hear from devs on how things are going. It's interesting. Aside from N4G and a few other sites, this sort of comment doesn't always degrade into a fanboy squabble.
I can see how people like owning the boxed games, I do myself. But I will say things like steam (which initially I hated) really have some worth to them.
For example, I wanted to go back and play half-life 2 again about a year ago. Unfortunately in all my moving I was missing disk 4 and could not install it. I logged into my old steam account after guessing at the forgotten password since i hadn't been on in like three years and much to my enjoyment, it told me I owned the game ...
Well I would say, considering they're a business if they're doing things that people don't support, then they're failing. Of course though, they do plenty of things people do support. That's why they are such a large company.
True, I don't think he's working alone. But Carmack has the ability to be very picky with the people he hires, and he is. It's not like he has a team of scrubs in there working on the ps3 version. I don't think anyone who would work for id could be classified as an "incompetent programmer".
I can almost guarantee you no one at naughty dog would knock Carmack. The difference is naughty dog doesn't do multiplat. Its not surprising their stuff runs smoother on the ps3.
You'd have to be pretty blind to think a developer is going to be a fanboy. Im sure they enjoy what they do developing games but the fact remains they're a business and are after profit.
Also, the reason it runs slower is not because they don't care. They have an extra team working solely on the ps3 version.
Thats kind of his job. To hype things that his company does.
Edit: Looks like someone beat me too it lol
First, Kushan is right. It is quite powerful, there's a reason devs love to use it.
Secondly, no it may not have all the nicest features (as someone mentioned, dynamic lighting is not its strongest point) but as far as being well rounded and easy to use it's top notch.
Thirdly, No a game engine doesn't include assets. You may be thinking of mods that use the engine. Of course they can use the games assets. It's not as though mirror's edge would use gears textures. ...
Honestly, how can anyone disagree that carmack is a legend? Regardless, Im going after the PC version, because if its an id game I feel as though the PC will be nicely supported.
Yes well, Im white, 23 and never agressed anyone in my life. However, if I were to run into you on the street one way or another the statistics show that we'd beat the tar out of each other. It's unfortunate too, you seem like a nice guy... but the statistics don't lie.
But gore does make sense in a war game. War is violent, and thus I would argue to make a war game more realistic they should be violent. However, there are plenty of violent war games so for those who are enjoying, keep on keeping on. For me it seems a bit odd.
They've never changed the net code. If you read any interviews, or have actually used the engine it uses the same net code as Unreal Engine 2. They're doing a complete overhaul for Unreal Engine 4.
People seem to conveniently forget that the driver problems aren't an issue for Mac's because they have a very limited device base. When you buy a mac they give you the graphics card, sound card etc. It's not surprising that they have less driver issues.
It's foolish to blame Microsoft for driver problems since they don't have control over that. Save for the audio card issues Vista had at launch, and that was because of their new DRM architecture they implement. Admittedly, that...
I like how most the pics they use of the real cars are edited so even they don't look real. It's hard to make a comparison to real life when the real life screens are cgi too...
Well to keep my response concise, I never said anything about music or movies. I said pirating video games, which is a very big reason for the decline in the PC market. I'm not sure why you feel like the dev's owe you anything. They owe you exactly what they'll give you, if you don't want to pay for it then don't play it.
