Im glad you made the differentiation champ because like major I was thinking the same thing. That would also explain why orange box was there but not the original halflife.
All around I agree with a lot of it but some things are fishy... but thats the problem with subjective lists.
I think id be upset with anything but you being angry given your name!
I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion but take nostalgia out of the mix, and the fact that most of us were relatively young when we played it and I agree with them. I couldn't make it through the game (I've tried since and certainly can't now). As a comparison I recently (within the last year) went back and beat Ocarina of Time and it still holds up well in my opinion even compared to today's much much higher standards. Albeit, even that has some to do with nostalgia.
Thats funny you say that, because I got it for 360 but ultimately hate the controller for fighting games. Mostly I play shooters which I much prefer the 360 controller for. I guess people really do have different taste because I would take the ps3 dpad over the 360's any day.
Yes but, its not like they charge by game. I think his controller argument is much more valid. As thats what made me want it for the PS3 (much better dpad and position), however ultimately I got it for 360 so I could play with my friends. So perhaps in a weird way paying for the service actually caused me to get the game on that system? Who knows, both are good... the video proves no debate is necessary other than preference.

This whole thing was a joke. I really don't think hes one or the other. The control part you mentioned was sarcasm. I don't think anyone is going to refute that PC controls work better for shooters. People may still prefer a controller, but even those people will generally admit you get more accuracy from a Keyboard and mouse.
It was all a joke, and a funny one I thought.
Why is it that you guys say anything thats not complete favor of the game fanboyism? You have to realize that acting like that is the actual fanboyism right.
Needless to say, Im playing through the game atm and it is great. But it doesn't feel like other games. You guys can at least admit that right? And not just a certain fps, every fps. Resistance is much more responsive. Now, is this a feature or an issue? Well, personally I don't like it for multiplayer because lets be honest...
Today, maybe he wasn't being sarcastic? On the off chance you aren't then there you go.
I completely agree. I also have a 360/PS3 and a gaming machine. If I can get a title on PC I will. For example, fallout 3 I got on PC. Graphics are much smoother and all around cleaner than what I saw on the 360. Plus, I wouldn't feel right if I didn't get to enjoy games like crysis that really push the envelope.
That said, I play a lot of gears 2 and I am anxiously waiting on KZ2. Maybe I just play to many video games...
Im not sure thats true. I think most people consider Unreal 2k4 as their best. Well, I do at least, and it seems most people I talk about it with do also.
But if what you say is true then I feel bad for people that started with Unreal 3 (I still enjoy the game mind you).
Personally I like it. Makes them sound human. I don't like cookie cutter remarks so if devs start talking like actual people would then Im all for it.
Because they know more about making games for a console than the people making games on those consoles. Honestly, even if you are a fanboy, does that stop you from admitting that the ps3 is harder to develop for?! Because it really is. Multithreaded applications are a nightmare to program (thats why most multi-threading processes for an Operating system are delegated to the best programmers), so programming for a cell processor effectively is very difficult.
As far as the memory ...
Exclusive... you're an idiot. Do you feel better now? Is you're purchase justified?
Haha, fair enough Slim.
Im sure Ill get disagrees for this but I didn't quite find MGS4 all that amazing as far as graphics. Uncharted on the other hand had amazing graphics and an all around art direction. One of my favorite games this generation, can't wait for the second.
Thats debatable since Im assuming you've never played Killzone 2 all the way through. Killzone 2 is set up linearly with a lot of scripted events. Which are very well done so it does add to the Immersion as you say. Crysis on the other hand had next to no scripted events as I remember playing through it. Its really just a different style of gaming. Keep in mind Im not knocking KZ because I played the beta and loved it, but Im not sure Im prepared to say it out does crysis.
Also, ...
What killzone did do is a lot of toning (adding gray to color). That in no way is a knock either because personally I like that art style. An example of a game with very little toning is Halo where everything is vibrant which looks good in its own right.
I do think you're being a little hard on a guy who is modding in his free time out of respect for both companies. I thought it was neat and certainly an interesting task.
Edit: Man, a disagree within 5 minutes of po...
For the most part I agree with Nai on this one. For example I like all those games (except MGS4) because Im good at those kind of games. And while some of that has to do with the fact that I play them the most, most of it has to do with what felt natural from the get go. Also, his point about saying a game sucks because you don't like it is right on too. I don't like MGS4, but I wouldn't ever say it sucks. Its just not my kind of game.
Ya know I wonder, Im not saying people shouldn't be offended by the game... but aren't there better things to worry about? Honestly, natives in parts of Africa still use spears. I haven't played it but it doesn't sound so wrong to me from what I've seen and heard.
