Just my 2 cents on the subject. I would have to agree with you on your personal choice "PS3 as a whole has what i want", but would add that is a personal choice. As I will also give you "to me the reason we buy the consoles is exclusives" as it is also your personal choice. But neither are reflective of what the market currently shows. So the assumption must be made that in general the market says different and thus another reason must be looked at.
Now ...
Exactly... I have never considered Final Fantasy nor Zelda games RPGs. They get labeled as such but don't truly fall under the RPG header. Just as Blue Dragon is not an RPG either. And Borderlands and a few others are only hinting at RPG elements. Most I would label as simply Action Adventures.
I could possably point to another reason. Though games sell well across the world. the US buyer on average tends to purchase more games then other countries. The attach rate is much higher in the US.
With XBox 360 having a much larger footprint in the US versus SOny, you will see the higher sales of exclusives due to that. MS just has a better grasp of the market that is doing the majority of the buying.
First off the move of Insomniac to go multiplatform in no way ends exclusive developement. If that was the case then we should have been talking this talk when Mass Effect went multiplatform.
Secondly, even if exclusives were found to be rare then it doesn't mean the death of either console. We have many different PC manufacturers, we have different DVD companies and they don't have exclusive films. I am sure that the console market could survive if games were creat...
I have played the game through a few times and have found only a few issues with AI. A few times of getting stuck in path finding or having issues with first aid.
But once you get that action wheel down you can quickly take control of your team. It does take some micro management... but nothing different then having to micromanage my real troops when I was in the military. ha
It is the closest game to the original Tom Clancy Rainbow Six with being able to...
Ha... you stole my line on the "That's not an RPG" when referring to the "but you're still playing the role of someone" remark.
It is true that ME2 was not overly focused on character progression. But it had enough of it with the ability upgrades through the game that gave you an RPG progression. You gained abilities through the game as you leveled up. And were able to put those abilities into areas that you chose.
I wish the...
You threw me off with the no caps thing. I am assuming you meant XIII. Which was an excellent cellshaded FPS.
I would recommend Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising be on the list. Better underrated FPS then most of the games on that list.
Koji is just a little bit too much sold into his own hype. Now he is basically saying that his style of game creation (Movie with a little action in between) is going to be the next big thing and even take over the movie world. He has really jumped the shark with his latest remarks.
I don't know who is more full of themselves... Kojima or Uwe Boll? Both think they are gods gift to their medium.
And where did the Music industry fit into all of this??? ...
With your definition then ALL games are role playing games as you are playing a character.
The RPGs in video games were created based on Role-playing game of pen and paper. Were the players each create characters whose roles they will play in the game.
I'm not saying that other RPGs that don't have player creation aren't RPGs, just not TRUE RPGs in my eyes.
Try going to the Respawn websight. They have not identified it as a FPS.
They have hinted at the game but specify only "first game is a sci-fi shooter", not necessarily a 'first person' shooter. Frank Gibeau (EA Games head) also stated that it would be "a little bit more of an action game than a pure shooter".
As for the graphics quality of the game... it would rely more on the quality of the game engine versus just who is wor...
Seeing that I don't consider a RPG a TRUE RPG unless you can create your own character. And in that case why would I hate my own character?
Now if he is generalizing then I still don't see that the majority of heroes are hated. The situations they get into might be hated, but the characters themselves are usually created in a way that you have to become invested in the character to enjoy continuing with the game. So NO, most RPG heroes are not hated. IMO.
Looks ok... but not sure the titles listed as being stepping up? None of them really did anything for me as a gamer. (though I am sure others have different taste in games)
Lets hope this new game does allow them to move into a new direction when it comes to quality games. I thought Alpha Protocol was going to do it for me, but though I enjoyed it at some level... it was not the game that I wished for.
Will Binary Domain and it's new engine be able t...

Like I said before, I’m having dinner with some old friends. It’s surprising… Most of them are already married, and almost half of them have kids. They’re all showing off pictures of their families and it makes me feel left out.
Maybe it’s time for us to get out of our comfort zone too."
My reply:
"Can’t be bothered now." My kids just got home from school and the wife and I are goi...
Yes the kid wasn't too swift in not naming something that wasn't quite as important to him versus his actual favorite item.
"Was" an unstoppable force??? You can't "Was" an unstoppable force... only "Is" an unstoppable force. If it isn't still an unstoppable force then it never "Was".
@ASTAROTH
He lists a PS3 Gamer Tag and not an Xbox 360 on his profile. So why claim he is an Xbox 360 fan attacking in some way?
Is this the only thing that comes to mind of the PS3 fans? BLame xbox fans?
I love it when fanboys feed on their own.
@RedDragan
Just using the best example of an engine not being utilized for vegetation. If you are going to have it in your game then do it right.
So basically a painted background would have been just fine for you then as the background has no effect on your immersion into the game?
So why didn't they just make all the cars low rez like the stock models? It's not like you look at the detail of the car when you are getting upto...
Just found out it is supposed to be an XBLA title.
I find the experience of playing on Xbox much more enjoyable then that of other consoles. Though some complain of the fact it isn't free, I enjoy my Xbox LIve... to no end. It is like a lan party without all the setup issues. We as a group feel like we are connected across all our games. No issues in staying in communication as we switch out games to play.
I too don't care about sales... other then if my online friends own the games that I play. I could add that wo...
