Yes composite cables are the Red, Yellow, white setup and are awful. Component cables though give you an HD video output using the Blue, Green, Red video and white, red for audio.
And it is hard to see much difference in quality from HDMI capable and component cables. Though there is a certain level of quality upgrade with HDMI cables from component.
But I think the article is talking about component cables and not composite cables which are different.....
But isn't that just for the video playback? Would it also be for the games? Seems odd that the games would be protected in such a way.
Oh well... regardless I am sure some device is going to step up and be able to handle the transfer of image. I am assuming just a simple process of finding a middle device to go from Hd input to analog sigal that can go composite if needed?

I might be reading those specs incorrectly but it appears that you would be able to plug in an HD from the PS3 for games to be recorded? If not then I am sure it will be available soon enough.
I really doubt that this will have too much of an impact on video coverage on PS3 games.
Those that are currently providing coverage will still be able to do so as no update will change the current systems in use.
Of course if a new system is purchased without a mode of recording being available then yes... new systems will not be used for such coverage.

You mean by the media right? If you read the article then you can tell that no such 'xbox music' added feature was going to be integrated. Only that you will be able to use voice commands to access music... the voice command being 'xbox music'.
But as usual the media runs with a watered down representation of what really was shown at the keynote.

Winback had it before Killzone and Splinter Cell did it prior and better then Killzone too.
People talk of Winback and Killzone... and I never cared for eithers cover system in the game. It is basically a financial scheme to prevent the small indie developer from offering his product to other sources.

It is the store that is putting their knecks out for the used games. Yes... for the most part they rape us on used games. Not really saving us that much money buying a used game so near release date.

So if you have someone playing with you online (is this game even going to have the option of 2 player split screen for multiplayer online?) on your PS3 will it allow that friend to sign into their profile and play online without the pass?
It is just like trying to sell your used car but having to have a pass to drive on the highway. Now your friend can't borrow your vehicle to drive on the highway. Nor your family members or anyone. And nobody wants to buy your used car if they have to pay extra just to be able to get out of town.
