A game with better resolution AND gameplay on the PS4 than on the One.
Ironically, I am against that which gives it the slight edge in gameplay: deals for exclusive content.
@Oh_Yeah
If that doesn't deserve to be bubbled up for being "interesting," nothing does.
Forget the whole "save" thing. How much of a "system seller" for Xbox will Titanfall be?
This is where VGChartz (usual disclaimers apply) has Titanfall, at 378,466 preorders, two weeks to launch. http://www.vgchartz.com/pre... By contrast, they had Call of Duty at 431,764 preorders, two weeks before the Xbox launch.
Someone with the proper resources should do an article analyzing the impact of past "system sellers" on console sales. They should examine how well the system was performing in comparison to the competition, the point in the console's life cycle the game came in, degree of exclusivity, other games on the market, etc.
@Convas
Well, you joined before I did, and I can assure you that graphics arguments weren't just limited to N4G. Your problem is that you have limited your perspective to this media label, Resolution Gate, which has been applied to this gen, but this argument is a continuation from last gen, only now that MS is definitively on the losing side of the argument people, including certain media outlets, want to either speak up where they did not last gen, or, even worse, no lo...
@Convas
Actually, Xbox apologists are the ones who made Resolution Gate, nitpicking disparities in multiplats between the 360 and PS3, but I know it's more convenient to your argument to ignore that history and pretend Sony fans just started picking on MS. Considering that the PS4 is snatching a good bit of that MS market share, maybe some of those former Xbox converts are holding MS to the same standards they held Sony last gen.
You won't find that ...
Previous history says that Sony's worse gen in the home console market was better than Microsoft's best.
If the best machine the Xbox ever produced couldn't defeat the PS3, after all of Sony's stumbles, it doesn't bode well for the XB1, with all of MS's stumbles, going up against (what is looking to be) the second coming of the PS2.
Well said.
Let me put it into perspective: Sony's worse gen in the home console market was better than Microsoft's best.
Pray for? No. Would I be happy? Absolutely. I don't like the overall direction that company has tried to take the gaming industry.
I am also not one of these people that drinks the Kool-Aid and believes that the gaming industry will not survive without MS. We survived the loss of Sega, and got PS2 the next gen. MS leaving will not be the Armageddon the apologists predict it will be. It doesn't even mean that the Xbox brand wouldn't still exist. It would hurt me m...
This article is a fine mix of ignorance, conjecture, and stupidity. I was of the opinion that I don't like that site, until I realized that it's one person putting out all of the ridiculous articles.
This guy cannot keep his personal biases out of his work. After whining in an open letter to MS how "it's not fair" that PS+ is better than GWG, he's decided to create some pro-Xbox news because, he says, "I love my Xbox." I would recommend so...
They should have just said it from the start. No one would really care, except for the Xbox apologists who pounced on this like starving dogs, and they would proudly boast that KZ was the best looking game of all time,if it ran at 900p, in all modes, on the Xbox, so their faux outrage doesn't mean much.
@Volkama
Of course it doesn't change my opinion of the game, but it cause me question if GG is being deceptive in future statements. That's all I'm concerned about.
@LightofDarkness
I think it's understood that he's talking in the context of console gaming. PS4 gamers don't hold delusions of the PS4 having secret sauce that puts it on par with a PC.
Change that headline. They updated the story with a correction. He was talking about PS3/360.
Still, who cares about EA sales predictions, seeing as how they dropped the ball on their predictions for this gen. The real story in that article is their stance on micro-transactions.
@Imalwaysright
Let's, also, not pretend that the PS1 didn't stomp a mudhole in the competition, selling over three times that of the nearest competitor, and bouncing a historic player out of the console hardware business. So, to the original question of whether PS4 would be this great without MS pushing Sony last gen, there is certainly precedent to suggest that it would.
As far as devs go, I think the PS3 showed you how Sony can get along without the...
@DadXVI
If you want an indication of trolling, look at your bubbles. Dansdooz is trying to make it like this is all some conjuration on the part of that biased N4G. That's funny, seeing as how N4G doesn't actually report any news; it's only an aggregate which pulls its stories from all over the web. But yeah, N4G, and trolls, or whatever you all have to tell yourselves.
MS has really fostered some diehards who take this stuff way too personally. Did you see the open letter from that one Xbox fan to MS? The guy ended a ten year friendship arguing over Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.
What's funny is how the biggest trolls are always the ones that find the stores where PS4's are stocked to the ceiling with not an Xbox in site.
If I read only N4G...
Or looked at sales charts...
Or considered that Xbox had a price drop 3 months after releasing and is pretty much including Titanfall for free in their bundles.
@loulou
What are you talking about? What better time to leave than when you've firmly positioned your system on top? He turned around the PS3, then made the PS4 the most successful launch in history.
