Whoever wrote this article obviously is not a racing fan.
As long as their is somewhere to go, As long as there is virtual gas in the tank, As long as there is a vehicle waiting to be played like a musical instrument, I'll be ready to play a symphony.
Put that away before Valve and Sony get in a law fight! I like that... law fight... it sounds more fun than law suit.
He thinks his game is better than Forza 2 because it's easier? Well... the only thing you absolutely need then it is a "Win" button.
...is that they only keep the brands. As long as you can keep track of the names of the people who made the games great you're better off following that.
Example: Bullfrog = Peter Molyneux
I dunno about Westwood though... R.I.P :(
I'm not sure that's absolutely necessary. I think that Xbox Live is just fine the way it is. I don't want to play Doll House on my console.
...to prevent the player from dying?
I own a 360. It's my favorite system simply because I'm partial to the games that are out on it and I like the controller.
That said. Microsoft seems to have been a bit shady in it's execution (so to speak) of the console and the way they've been promoting it. It doesn't take a genius to see that there are problems with the way the system was designed. RROD is everywhere. Also if they say that a game is 1080p and it isn't, there is a problem with that as well.
...
Resolution has nothing to do with disc space. I suggest you go out and read up on a subject before you start preaching. One could render a single polygon at 1080p with no problems. What causes developers to need to pull back on resolution is when the number of polygons, textures, shaders, post process effects, and animation and AI routines being used, reach the maximum potential of the system.
This is not simply the cause of the system that the software is being run on but also the ...
Because it's so typical of Microsoft to put out something that is only a bit innovative and then charge an arm and a leg for it, people will believe a story in which Microsoft would try to get people to make games for their console for next to nothing.
Indeed it should have been labeled a Rumor. I dislike the fact that Kotaku had the tiniest little rumor tag on the story as well, but it's their blog and if they want to promote misinformation that's their prerogative.
Quite funny, but the complaint about the doors makes me wonder.
If evil overlords made it absolutely impossible to get through doors in their "lairs". How would they get anything done? It would be like the beginning of Get Smart with all the freaking doors everywhere.
Just because these guys are evil overlords doesn't mean they don't want to get anything accomplished. :)
The PS3 is going to have a 10 year lifespan. You shouldn't really be complaining if Home isn't released immediately after it's been announced.
I agree whole heartedly. Now if only we could get Valve to make a console.
... I mean... seeing as you put it on your head... and you don't use your hands... and .. yeah... nvm...
...I'm pretty sure that the majority of them are pirating or perhaps buying from Steam. It's tough to say if that's actually what's happening as Valve doesn't release its Steam data.
It seems that these days the only way that a developer can make any money is to make an MMO, force people to purchase copies in order to get an account and then charge a monthly fee for the game.
Otherwise it's a shot in the dark. There are far too many people out there who have this "I'm super...
I'm sure...
sticky aim, ok you might have something there, but the truskill system was implemented so that those people who are very good at the game play with others who are really good at the game.
Being good and complaining about truskill is like being a high school student who complains because people don't want you to beat the crap out of kindergarten students.
You don't see NHL players complaining that they can't compete against peewee teams.
Linear games are great if you don't want to allow the user to explore. Personally, I like being able to explore wide open areas, but it has to be done right.
In my opinion Bethesda is the current king of non-linear gameplay and as long as they keep doing what they do so well right now, they'll have a customer in me. I'm not a fan of linear.
1. Cables end up behind the tv not in front so if they're clunky it's not a big deal.
2. Obviously your image will never look as good as HDMI. As a matter of fact, it's not going to look any better than it does using your 'clunky' component cables.
3. If I was seriously bothered by my clunky cables and visuals I'm currently getting, I'd go out and buy a new "Arcade" 360 and use the "functional" HDMI port on the back with my old hdd.
Confirmed!!! Portal 5!! ;)
... if they release anymore screenshots nobody will have to play the game...
