You must not have read the article on IGN... they stated that it took "6 hours" of the in-game story based mission time. They then said this was not truly accurate as they did patrol bounties, strikes, replaying missions (which doesn't add into the "6 hours") on the harder difficulties for leveling, weapon leveling, loot collecting. Who knows if they've done free-roam and gone gold chest or ghost hunting.

I just really want to play this game, if it's only on X1... then I need to buy an X1. At least that's better than assuming game companies should pander to my requests.

The ONLY thing I can honestly say I am dissapointed with is the lack of "life" in the worlds. I mean the Moon is an amazing gameplay arena but when I look at the sky, it doesn't move, it looks like a water-color painting (beautiful, still) and I am not sure why, but it bothers me and seems lazy. Makes the sky look eerily dead to me.
I hate that I've explored nooks and crannies of Earth/The Moon and find... nothing, no new/unique bad guys, no loot, no ammo,...
Man... If I had the money... I'd buy the white box w/ sunset and bide my time with my PS4 until COD & MCC came out.
I've been seeing this more often than the 9/10 originally. About 15-20 hours depending on your playstyle and how you decide to level up.

I agree, I am skeptical because it does seem like from fire-fight to fire-fight the only difference is how much damage they do to you and how little you do to them.

Sadly, you should have revealed this BEFORE revealing new 3DS hardware. Why would I knowingly purchase an inferior product (that most who are interested probably already have) as opposed to something that is going to be released in the near future that I know is more powerful?

Can anyone help me understand what would be better to make it more "interesting" and less shooting hordes of enemies? To me, I enjoy the landscapes, the exploration, the waves of enemies, the integration of multiple people on a planet doing a bunch of different things, but together.
I have only played a few bosses and it was a lot of cover and shoot and run around then shoot till they died. Is this all most bosses are? There's no trick or special unique way...

I don't think that's the correct way to do the math (you did 500 mil / $60 = 8.3 mil).
This is over numerous countries with different prices and monetary values for the game. Heck in AUS it might be $90 and their currency is stronger than the US dollar.
Also there are all the bundles (how many sold out??)

I don't think the first few commenters read the story... it's a fairly favorable read for Destiny. He brings up a very honest and logical point, this game NEEDS a population. Not saying that makes it a great or even good game. But if you are to play this game, you need friends, you need a population to share the experience with. That's what I take from it.

Yes, if you enjoy coop and RPG elements. I'd say it's a mini-team RPG as opposed to a "MMO". From my experience no one really joins my game but my friends and I haven't been a part of a random public event yet (level 7).
If you don't enjoy grinding and looting and leveling up characters, I'd suggest you stay away. It's not a substitute for BF or COD games, just two different animals.
