Kind of disappointed these things require a frickin PATCH! Why is it that every time you buy a game you are required to run to the the damn internet and wait an hour or so to get the complete version? Then some day when this patch is taken down you are stuck with an incomplete game on disc. It is really annoying.

And the answer is that some people are imbeciles.

I guess they think that hardware power is infinite or something.

I like how people just declare stuff like it is fact. 60>30 fps, 720p@60>1080p@ 30fps etc.

It is just your opinion. Some would like to have a better looking game even at a lower framerate. A game like this where immersion and mood is important would benefit from better graphic fidelity and in my *opinion* the 30 fps would be better. Now with online dudebro twitch shooters I can see how many prefer the 60 fps over better graphic fidelity.

Graphics are ALWAYS downgraded when you run at a higher framerate, any PC gamer knows this. Like DUH! it has to be if you are rendering double the amount of frames in a second, what do you think that is free? The only difference is they just cut things out and release the game as-is most of the time and no one is the wiser, You just never find out what was missing.

This is great that they gave the option for this, hopefully uncharted 4 will give similar options so that you...

The old "resolution doesn't matter" fanboy spin. It matters and yes it does mean better graphics. Things in the distance for one are more visible with higher resolution, they don't turn into amorphous blobs. Textures look better being sharp. My TV is 1080p, not 792p, or 900p. Native res 1:1 pixel mapping always looks better than upscaled. Just because you don't care and can't tell doesn't mean it is the same for everyone. I DO notice the difference for one....

@MorePowerOfGreen:

"Rather have the console with better software and services. What good is PS4's supposed power advantage when the Software and features are so weak on PS4 the console is useless outside of playing a game".

Maybe because that is what most of us use game consoles for, you know, playing GAMES?

I have a PC for features and apps.

Rather have the console with better graphics and games. What good is xbo...

Apps? ever hear of a PC? a Tablet? Phone? Tons of "apps" there, who cares.

I play games not "apps" on a game console. All of that bloat just gives you downgraded graphics in games, keep it.

And gets higher resolution in more MULTIPLATFORM games, better framerates, no screen tearing, better AO, lighting, shadows, etc. Indies? IDK, don't play them.

I play GAMES not pretty but bloated UIs. I don't have ADD either. I don't need to run 15 things at once that only serve to spoil the mood of a game.

If you want a bunch of features in which most won't ever use, and pays the price in downgraded graphics, the "other team's" sy...

I just hope they don't bloat the OS up and make my games run choppy, get screen tearing, or drop resolution. I use games on the game console, not all of that social media crap. I also play GAMES not OSs. If I wanted low res, low framerate, screen tearing and a bloated OS full of fluff that 99% of it I won't use I would have bought an xbone.

Stability=good, bugs=bad.

At least with itunes once you download the content you own it. With streaming it is rental only, kind of different, and worse.

4344d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It is actually better if psnow does fail. If it is wildly successful that will spell the end for current game ownership. Publishers love the streaming model, they own your money, you do not own any of the content. Do we really want a rental only, online only, pay per play only service where you can only play what they let you, when they let you to take over?

Not only that but you get input lag and degraded graphics that are compressed and streamed. That is not how I want to...

Since it was reported that the PS4 and Xbone versions are exactly the same the PS4's extra graphic power was not utilized. It was gimped to match the xbone so fanboys wouldn't be butthurt.

"All DLC comes with the game, but you’ll need to purchase it if you didn’t already for the PS3 version. It’s cross-play, so if you bought it on PS3, it will be compatible on PS4. "

This is confusing. I thought if you buy the remaster you get the DLC included on the disc and get to play it without any more cost. If this is true what is the point of including the DLC if you need to pay for it in addition to the game itself? Really this means the DLC DOESN'T come...

How about no more releasing of incomplete/broken games on disk only to patch later. The problem is that even though you own the disc, you don't own the patches because you can't back them up. Delete the game from the HDD to make space and the patch is gone. What happens when that patch is no longer online or what do those do without internet connections?

OT I just played a few TurboGraphx games on my Nvidia Shield through an emulator I realize how tough games reall...

Day one patch? Doesn't anyone release a COMPLETE game anymore?

4346d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

Also it's disadvantages. Since you need to render twice as many frames in a second all other graphics will be downgraded. It is math, you can only do so much and the PS4 has no Titan Z in it.

So to get 60 FPS you give up many effects like AA, lighting, particles, Shadow resolution, Texture resolution, draw distance, etc. To me for Single player games 60 FPS is NOT worth it. I would much rather have 30 FPS and better graphics. I can see 60 FPS with the needed graphics ...

@Mithan

Who says it needs to be "maxxed"? The PS4 could handle the game, it just wouldn't look as good as PC.

4348d ago 0 agree4 disagreeView comment

Usually if you change PC settings the image doesn't get bigger or smaller the monitor just upscales to fit the screen (unless you can force 1:1). You will notice that the upscaled image looks fuzzy which is why resolutions should match the native res of the display. This is why games should output NATIVE 1080p on a 1080p TV.

X1 upscaling to 1080p is NOT the same as true 1080p. It is like going into photoshop and taking a 1280x720 picture and stretching to 1920 x 1080....

4348d ago 4 agree3 disagreeView comment

That is just why it is best for these consoles to support 1080p native resolution for current TVs, because everyone's situation is different and many DO notice. No one can guess what a gamer will or won't notice. If you do 1080p then you are covered. Many do notice the less than native resolution and it does make enough of a difference.

I am playing Watchdogs on the PS4 and the 900p resolution DOES bother me, it is too aliased/pixellated. The upscale artifacts (fi...
