What part of "teaser" don't they get? Next they will complain about game demos because they are too short and have no ending smh.

Does anyone know if all of these demos were actually running on a real PS4 or is it instead on a high end PC? The reason for the silence is that they may be having a hard time getting it to run well on a PS4. The graphics did look ambitious for a console.

First person is much more immersive and more scary. It is the difference from feeling like you are there, to feeling like you are playing a game by driving a polygon guy by RC.

That said they could just give an option to zoom in and out of the character so players have the choice for 1st or 3rd like in Skyrim and most racing games.

And the whole point flew right over your head.

While my "plastic shiny system just isn't all that and a bag of chips" one is a bit stronger than the other, it is fact whether xbots want to accept it or not.

Since the hardware is a bit better on PS4 than the other, the graphics should be a bit better on it. I am not saying the PS4 has super-massive power advantage and should be 1080p 60 FPS and the xbone 720p 30 FPS, but 1080p on PS4 vs 900p on ...

Well if it runs exactly the same on both with the same rez and FPS then they DID gimp the PS4, or they were lazy and did the Bone version and straight ported it to the PS4 without taking advantage of the extra bit of GPU/memory power. Since the hardware is not exactly the same neither should the graphics be exactly the same.

It has to be that as it is known that the PS4 is a bit stronger and is easier to hit 1080p.

People say "well the consoles are weak...

You need to check those "eagle's eyes". I sit 1 meter away from a 32" Sony bravia and I can EASILY see the difference. 900p is much more aliased and soft due to the low res and upscale filter. Then you have the pixel crawl and shimmer/ripple from the odd resolution mismatch. If you can't see that, it is time for Lens-crafters for you.

900p is crap. My TV is not 900p, 792p, 912p, it is *1080p*. Native resolution due to the 1:1 pixel mapping and extra...

This will require allot of overhead now in the form of memory and CPU etc as it takes extra processing. Does this mean devs will now have even LESS power to devote to the games themselves as the OS will gobble up even more memory/CPU?

Even if you aren't using it won't they have to provide for the ones that do and therefore have to downgrade resolution/framerate/graphics so that it will run with this feature? Is now even less memory available to games? Less CPU cores ...

@Death -
"I would absolutely opt in for this if it were made available. Microsoft wanted to do for games what Apple did for music. "

But it is nothing like it. With iTunes songs you can use the files on any player at any time, can be backed up, and you don't need to check in online every 24 hours (or ever)to listen to the music. So what MS wanted to do was nothing like Apple.

FP is more immersive and therefore more scary. PT should show you that. I would pick first person in almost all games like this, it is more immersive

That being said I don't see the big deal with giving an option, hit a button to switch perspectives to the one you want. Skyrim did it and almost all racing games let you switch perspectives to what you want. More games should let the player choose.

And Mario was always a 2D cardboard cut out running on a scrolling 2d background before they changed it and made it 3D in Mario 64, probably one of the best versions. "It was always that way" is a lame reason.

FP is more immersive and therefore more scary. PT should tell you that.

Than being said I don't see the big deal with giving an option, hit a button to switch perspectives to the one you want, debate over.

Yes it would except that you would BE the character rather than controlling some polygon game guy by remote control. It is scarier and more immersive in FP.

No you can't assume anything who knows what will happen.

1080p and 60 fps is possible on the Xbox original too if you tone down the effects (there actually was Dragon's Lair on Xbox at 1080). Yes the xbone can do 1080p and 60 fps but with other effects such as AA, AO, shadow maps texture res etc toned down. Wolfenstein was 1080p and 60 fps on both xbone and PS4 but ran better and looked better on the PS4 (xbone dropped res etc). Hardware is a bit better in the PS4 ...

The main problem with xbone exclusivity is that the game will then be limited by the weaker hardware of the xbone. This means the game won't be as good as it could be and have toned down graphics. At least if it came to PS4 it could look better, and if it comes to PC it would look better yet.

Exclusive games exclusive to the weaker console is bad, period.

Which is a hold over from the PS3. It was too weak to do the AI plus pushing the thing with it's 512mb to the limit. That is the drawback of remasters, they are held back in some way from last gen limitations.

4323d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Honestly the graphics on the remaster are a bit hit and miss. Sometimes it looks great, other times you can definitely tell that is a port of a last gen game and not made specifically with PS4 in mind. The textures and lighting can at times look kind of oversaturated and "cartoony". The "car ride" sequence in the beginning looked shockingly bad. It had loads of pop-up, poor character models, empty backgrounds, and blurry textures.

It got better later b...

Too bad they didn't remaster Munch's Odyssey and Stranger's wrath. I loved those and would have bought them. A remake of an old 2d PS1 game was not going to get me to bite.

The difference though is that if you delete a game off of the HD that you own on disc and you want to replay it in the future you can pop in the disc and be playing in a few minutes. With digital you need to wait hours to re-download again (if they still have it on their servers, eventually they might not). If your HDD fails and you need to re-downloads hundreds of gigs that would be a major pain too especially if your internet is slow and/or not unlimited. A physical copy is a good backup...
