The downgrade was disappointing, for PC. For the consoles though it had to be, they aren't super powerful and there had to be compromises especially when it was released. There is no way the xbone or ps4 could have done those original E3 graphics, unless you dropped the resolution to 480p.

I found driving to be much easier in action sequences if I used FPV. 3rd person controlled bad, but it is expected. Most of us aren't floating behind our cars whil...

It does seem like sour grapes, and makes MS look like sore losers.

Very hard because they are not a good company. If you look at their record and practices you will see that MS is quite bad.

They buy up what they can't make then usually ruin it. Their OS is a bug-bomb piece of bloated junk ( I use WindBlows BTW because I have to for work stuff, I am no butthurt apple fan, I don't own a mac). The only reason it is popular is because it is installed by default on every PC you buy. How can you lose?

You can see them...

PT was scary in large part due to the FPV. Since SH will probably end up being a 3rd person game where the camera is pulled back a bit you will lose some of the immersion and sense of place. It will just feel like you are "controlling a game character" rather than actually being there yourself. This will dull some of the scariness, but maybe that is a good thing? Then again they could have a button you hit, if you dare, to switch to FPV...

Graphical downgrade. It still looked decent even on PS4 though (compared to PC not as good but better than xbone). I beat it and it had good moments. Some of the chase parts had cool outcomes. I found driving easier during chases if I used the bumper cam FPV. Also grenade launcher FTW, takes out fixer vehicles real nice. Get that weapon as soon as possible. I think the strategy of buffing up by doing side missions first then doing story later makes it easier.

I was init...

I thought the controls were better than Assassin's Creed IV (on land, sea was ok). Those were so bad I wanted to bust my controller to bits at times. I mean you would randomly climb/stick to/fall off things just because you were close to something and the game decided to do it for you whether you wanted to or not. Doing those "cut down enemy flag" on ship boards was an exercise in frustration while climbing masts for one example. I beat both and WD seemed much better in the ...

Maybe but Destiny is online only, MP only and WD could be played on or offline and has a full single player mode.

You would think Destiny has a narrower audience because of the live/PSN+ subscription paywall and MP requirements. It has more hype and advertising though so we will see.

I don't think he was that bad either. I am not saying great but sill there are many characters that I thought were worse. Delsin from ISS was cringe worthy at times. I didn't get that in WD.

Have you tried using bumper cam FPV? I hated driving till I did this. The downside is for some reason you can't look around in FPV, so I navigated the city in 3rd person then when the action started I switched to FPV, seemed to make the control easier.

There seems to be allot of hate but I beat the game and I don't think the characters were that bad. Not saying the best ever but none of the characters were as terrible as you would think by reading the comments. As far as Aiden being boring, I don't really see it. YOU are the character and what you do is what is fun or not. You can be as exciting or as boring as you want mostly.

I thought some of the car chases etc were fun. Driving was hard when in 3rd person b...

Being online only multiplayer only kind of limits their audience. I think is was a mistake to not include a good offline campaign too but we will see.

No, most Americans want good $#!+ for their money. That is why we buy Japanese cars, electronics, consoles, etc. Most know that most big corporations are multinational and don't give a crap about people in their native country and many are politician bribing tax dodgers anyway.

Shareplay is probably the most demanding of the social features though. That is probably why the PS4 can only use 6 of the 8 cores for games, for crap like that. Imagine how much better games could look if they had full access to PS4 CPU and memory? They wouldn't have to gimp PC versions quite as bad, maybe Watchdogs would even be a full 1080p. Too bad I play games first not social crap I can do on my phone or PC etc.

Balazs Torok: ..We are definitely taking advantage of the ESRAM on Xbox One, and we know that we have to fit into these limits, so we are constantly optimizing the usage."

The whole point is to match the native res of the TV, just like you set your graphics card on a PC to match the monitor.

Upscalers are not magic things that create detail out of thin air. You couldn't upscale a SNES game on a 60" TV and have it look sharp. All they do is double pixels every so often to fill the screen, then apply a filter to attempt to smooth out the resulting jaggies. It kind of works, kind of. You end up with an aliasy and blurry image image mo...

If 1080p was an arbitrary number then we would have TVs with 900p, 792p, 800p, 912p or whatever arbitrary number they came up with. We don't, they sell 1080p TVs and some 4K sets that is about it (720p is passé).

It is important for games to just run at the native resolution of most TVs so that you don't get the ugly upscale artifacts such as filter blur, ripple, pixel crawl, shimmering etc. You wouldn't set your PC graphics card to a arbitrary number, you ...

I really wish the PS4 supported external drives. I would really use that unlike all of this social feature bloatware they seem to love to put out.

Looks like the volumetric lighting is missing on the PS4. In the beginning when you reach the top of the ladder the orange light scatters through fog/dust and obscures the background on the PC. On the PS4 it is missing with no scattering you just see like there is no fog. Why doesn't the moon cause lens flair on the PS4? Also the gamma on the PS4 is too bright, makes it look washed out. All of those effects were present in Killzone so I know the system can do it,not sure what happened...
