It is probably that way because people know that those games have SP modes that are weak and mostly very short, so SP gamers simply don't buy them in the first place. That will weight results as mostly MP gamers buy those games.
I know for me I stopped buying COD games because I like SP not MP and the SP while sometimes not bad, is very short. It is a jip to pay $60+ for a game that lasts me 4 hours.
It seems they think FPS= MP only. Now if they do make ...

The trend is too bad because I used to love a good lo...
"Multiplayer games have expiry dates, single player doesn't. "
That is one reason publishers love them. They can decide when to "flip the switch" and make your game useless. It is all about publisher control this gen it seems with pushing DRM filled digital, mandatory online etc.
Everyone has the right to an opinion but man you are missing allot of good gaming experiences.
Running around "maps" just shooting and yelling at each other online can get pretty old and "same-y". It is a shallow experience with no story, plot, minimal exploration, etc.
I used to be an explorer like you, then I took a laser in the knee.
X1 will win in USA and UK, PS4 will win worldwide in total. That is what I think.
Who has better games is subjective. I say PS4 has the edge for Single player and better graphics for multiplatform and X1 has better online MP focused games due to more robust network etc.
Maybe not everyone thinks "always online" is good. MS tried to shove that on us and then told us to "deal with it". Now though always online is ok because they throw some effects in?
What happens when the internet traffic is bad, you have slow internet or just don't want to be online? What happens to the game when they eventually drop support for it on the servers? All of these things are a problem with "cloud" based instead of local.
Yes 900p on PC but that was when outputting to a 900p monitor! There are NO 900p TVs so now you re required to scale to 1080p to avoid a big empty border around the screen. People seem to miss the fact that NATIVE resolutions look better because 1:1 pixel mapping avoids numerous scaling artifacts that kill PQ. It isn't JUST about more resolution but that helps too.
It is about a weaker GPU in the xbone (hardware). Just look at the number of shaders etc. It is what it i...
Software is not going to make up for a weaker GPU. Optimize even more and the xbone will have graphics rivaling a Titan GPU on PC, no it doesn't work like that sorry, even with DX15.
Optimizing will get you closer to the hardware limit. The more optimizing you do the closer you will get but it will be diminishing returns the more you optimize. The PS4 has a higher hardware limit due to the beefier GPU. You can optimize less and still get better performance than xbone....
LOL at you calling others idiots when you don't realize that "final resolution" is referring to the x1 upscaling/stretching the true 900p resolution to fit a 1080p resolution TV. Hint:upscaled 900p doesn't look as good as 1:1 pixel mapped 1080p native.
"Idiots on here" need to learn the difference between upscaled and native resolution and what "final output" means.
"I'd prefer increased resolution to spot distant objects and make out enemies better."
Then get the PS4 version, it is 1080p.
@HaydenJameSmith
Nice try, read again. It says 900p and the "final output" is 1080p. ALL X1 or PS4 games' "final output" is 1080p even the ones that run in 720p native like DR3. That is because that is referring to the upscaling from 900p to 1080p video output. "Final output" is marketspeak for upscaled.
As we know upscaling doesn't look as good as native and 900p is 900p. It will still suffer from scaling artifacts ...
@Tetsdah
I am not saying it has to be a 200 hour open world game like The Glitcher 3, but 20-30 hours would be about good. If the game is good why would you want it over so fast and get jipped? There is no time limit so if the game lasts you a couple of weeks of gaming instead of two days why would that be bad? It isn't like a movie where you need to experience it all in one sitting.
COD campaigns are short like that but that is COD which is MP focused,...
That is pretty short. By the time you start to get into it, it is over. You can easily beat it in a few days and if you play nonstop one day ends it. That is not so good, especially if you are enjoying it.
Not everyone likes online MP either. So unless you like online to make up for the short length it sounds like it isn't gong to be worth it.
8-10 hours is short. I could play two hours a night and beat it in less than a week. That isn't a very good value. Not everyone likes online multiplayer either. I won't touch it. No psn plus here as MP is not my thing. Relying on MP to supplement a short campaign is disappointing.
@PistolsAtDawn
"YES, UI abilities are more important"
To YOU maybe but since I and many others spend 99.999% of the time playing the GAME and a few seconds in the UI just to start the game the UI is mostly meaningless as long as it works. Having better graphics in the main reason for using the thing in the first place makes more sense.
"more important than a graphical difference that you have to be told exists"
...
Blame MS for building a console with a weak GPU. It isn't the devs fault.
@Mr Logic
I don't think that is why, I think it is because PC gamers are pirates for the most part. You can't make much money if gamers are downloading a cracked version of your game for free.
So the one with the weak GPU and downgraded graphics with many games still running in 900p with ugly upscaling is the best one? Speak for yourself, not for me.
Since I play games and not updates and cluttered UIs and like the better multiplatform graphics PS4 is the better one for me. Oh yeah but the x1 has better online. I hate online MP games. So there you go x1 not "better" for everyone.
I ALWAYS play Elder Scrolls games like Skyrim, and Fallout games in first person. Any game that gives the option for FP I use it is more immersive. In TP the camera is usually zoomed out so you get a more out of the action floating camera view which I don't like. Too bad more TP games don't give an option for FPV.
