@Sparta07 But it is weaker than YOU think...
Do you really need a list? AC Unity, The Witcher 3 come to mind and there are many with frame drops and screen tearing.
I don't care that much. I would rather play the better looking version on the Pro or Scorpio. Most everyone already has an xb1 or PS4, Nintendo knows this. They also know that most will buy those games on the more powerful systems. Games that will release on the Switch will be ones that are well suited for the system's advantages (portability, local MP through multi-system networking, etc).
I will buy this thing for Nintendo first party games. It will be worth ...
"The Big Challenge: How Can Nintendo Ensure That Switch Doesn’t Become A Wii U 2.0?"
ANSWER: Games. Release good Nintendo first party games and they will be fine, as long as it doesn't take too long to get them out.
Metroid prime
Mario
Mario Cart
Zelda
Pikmin
F-Zero
Wave Race
...
Or just buy physical carts, and ignore digital download, I mostly will.
Online, schmonline. This system seems more about local MP as well as standard SP games. That is good as it is a good niche, if you want robust online MP buy an xbox.
As in games. That is what will make or break the system. Those Nintendo exclusives will make it worth it. I want a real Metroid game dammit!
Games. I want to see games. Third party ports? I don't care about lower quality versions of those. I will have my Pro and Scorpio for the better looking ports.
I am interested is seeing Nintendo games, that is what I will buy the system for. I would like some real Metroid games, even ones remastered from the Game Cube. I would like to see some new Mario, and even the Wii U version as I never played the WiiU. Pikmin and of course Zelda are top of my list.
So I guess Scorpio will have 12 TF GPU when they use this same technique? MS still wins.
Scorpio also has 4 GB additional memory instead of only one, again advantage xbox. The pro will be good this year, but the Scorpio will trump it next year.
You NEED to be online some of the time with xbone. You can't update the OS and therefore can't play new games unless you go online to update.
Sony is kind enough to include required OS updates on the game disc that requires them. You can be totally offline at all times with PS4 and still use it, with xbox, no.
While you are at it, unlock the 3DS. There is no point in having that locked either.
Meh, I would have rather had 60 FPS at 1080p with more effects and graphics features. Pseudo 4K (even native 4k) PQ has diminishing returns in noticeable quality if viewed from normal TV viewing distance. Better LOD, field of view, AO etc. and smoother frame rate is MUCH more noticeable than slightly crisper edges. The whole 4K hype is over rated.
I am sure the Scorpio will do that too, it has a more advanced GPU and CPU. Sony still loses the console power arms race. Too bad they were conservative and made it so weak, would have liked more power and would have paid for it. What is an extra $100.00 for a system you will use for years?
Big deal, the Scorpio has 12 GB, Sony loses.
I kind of like it and will probably get one. Why try to release another me too home only console to be the same as the PS4 or X1? We already have those, there would be almost no point in another one. This will be a very powerful handheld, and a decent home console with enough power to play typical Nintendo games well. I wouldn't want this as an only console, but to add it to my Pro and/or Scorpio would be great.
The Jaguar was 64-bit (allegedly) look how that turned out.
Fanboys.
@Ciporta1980
Except that some don't play online at all or if we do it isn't the most important thing..
It is too bad Sony didn't make the Pro more powerful. Come next year the Scorpio will crush it in power.
Too bad they are pushing this 4K crap. That extra power could be used for better effects/frame rate at 1080p.
