Especially now, what are all of those owners of the online only version doing with it now that no one plays it? Bots?
Ambient Occlusion is much better on PC. Look at the very end with the umbrella.
It is too bad I couldn't choose better graphics and native 1080p instead of 4K for A TV I don't have.
They showed that E3 trailer, then downgraded the hell out of the graphics even on PC. That is a lie. I say that and I liked the first one for the most part except for the 900p downgraded graphics on PS4.
You are just parotting back what others say. The protagonist in WD1 was not any more "cookie cutter" than any other. Look at almost any other game, you are either a gravelly voiced military badass, or a space marine, not cookie cutter?
Actually to think of it, Aiden was *not* cookie cutter, maybe that was the problem?
And he had a reason to kill, and made you want to get even. This one not so much, the only upside is that it looks decent on the PS4 pro, crisper than the 900p of the first one.
I beat the first one and play a little of this. I liked the first one better. This one seems silly with no mood. So far I have to try to force myself to play it, it makes me sleepy.
The first one had more mood. This one so far is not "uplifting" it is just kind of campy from what I have played. I liked the revenge theme better, it made you want to pay those bitches back. This is like meh so far, it is like who cares about a "l337 h4xx0r" trying to join a hacking group etc. The story lacks any "punch" and just seems silly.
@ziggurcat
It is broken. If it needs a patch, it is broken. Yes almost all games are broken these days but that doesn't make it right. Woe to those who don't have internet or don't have a fast connection.
Many gamers (like me) don't even subscribe to PSN+ or Live as we don't play MP. So in those cases the MP modes in games like this are 100% useless. All it does is take resources away from the SP campaign as studios have limited budgets/time to make a game.
@Septic
Except that a game has a limited budget. They only allow so much time and money to be spent on it. That means that one style being added in DOES effect the other.
MP games could have more maps etc if there was no SP, and SP games could be longer more varied etc if they didn't have to spend time and money on MP stuff.
I would be for splitting the games, no SP in MP and no MP in SP games. Example is like Elder Scrolls, you ...
Except that it effects everyone as it makes bad practices the norm. I can not pre-order or buy DLC but then I will get a gimped game without the content cut to be sold as DLC and I will get a broken game because it was rushed out to meet pre-order dates.
Except that people like you make sure games are released broken and content is cut from games to sell it to you later. It effects everyone.
It is only "the way it is" because people go along with it. If no one did it the practice would die. If you think that bad practices like this can't be avoided just ask microsoft who said the same thing about always online DRM. It was "the way it is" too, you know "deal with it", until their pre-ord...
Not totally true. If they get a bunch of pre orders they are hesitant to delay a game to finish it and release the working version as many whiny ass bitches will throw a hissy fit and cancel pre-orders. To avoid this they release it by the date finished or not. That is ok for those with top notch internet connections and don't mind downloading huge patches but for many like me I find it rather annoying and a waste of time. Also patches won't be online forever so when they are pull...
It is easy to hold off, blurry low quality optics, low resolution, and expensive games that are mostly short demos and/or on rails. Having to use those awful Move controllers don't help either.
Needs work.
Base building? How about the original features that were left out? Shouldn't they be adding those instead? How about the real planets and star systems rather than just faked with a sky box? Where are my sand worms?
Sean went full retard now. He added features no one asked for (base building, stupid for a game that is about travel) and still lacks the original features like planet physics, orbits, etc. Meh.
The best campaign? All 3 hours of it? Seriously the campaigns on these MP focused titles are not worthwhile enough to buy the game unless your main preference is MP. The last one I bought was COD Ghosts but that campaign was short like most COD games and was not too good. I vowed never to buy another one of these MP focused games for the campaign again. I suppose it is a good renter though where you can beat it in a night and then return it.
I do miss the SP campaign...
Ok so what did they downgrade? Usually when they "improve performance" they do so by reducing detail somewhere such as worse draw distance, texture or lighting etc. Knowing Ubi, they took something out to get better frame rate (optimize code? that is real work).
Divided resources. One style will take from the other due to limited dev time/money budgets. I almost think it would be better to split the games in to two. One a SP only game that is much bigger than the tacked on campaign it usually is, and another a MP game with many more maps.
I rarely buy day one anymore. Actually some times I wait a year.
Too much release broken now, patch later mentality. My internet is not the fastest so these day one patches are very irritating.
If I wait i can: get the working/complete version, maybe even get the GOTY version with all DLC and bug patches included on the disc (you know, what they used to call a "finished game").
I buy physical because I own it and if I need t...
