Ouch! I guess it needed more time in development to fix the controls, a decade was obviously not enough.
Bad gameplay compared to any game that controls well without all of the lag and choppy frame rates.
4K this 4K that. Honestly if they just used 1080p and used the extra power for better graphical effects and frame rate you would notice the difference way more than slightly crisper edges.
Lazy PS3 port with blurry textures and choppy frame rate, rental.
I consider 12-15 hours pretty short for a SP game. This gen it may be average but last gen they lasted longer, probably 20-30 hours.
Yeah, dem graphics... Certainly does look outdated, definitely looks like it was going to be a PS3 game, as it still looks like one. You would think after all of that time they could have updated those blurry textures, and if they didn't it should be running at 60 FPS not 20.
Add the bad graphics. With graphics this terrible it should run at 60 FPS on the original PS4. I guess that is what happens when a game is in development hell for so long. The code must have been ported from PS3 and it didn't go well. They probably needed another 5 years to get decent graphics and FPS.
This game is ugly. The graphics are PS3 quality resolution and everything is grey. Al least they could have made it look better since playability is so bad. Bad textures and bad gameplay don't deserve a 10, maybe a 5 or 6.
Gameplay is a change of pace? Maybe so since other games are playable and control well, and most aren't a choppy mess with PS3 quality textures.
Maybe they can't put it on the box if it doesn't support it out of the box on the disc. If someone does not have internet access then the game will NOT support the pro.
It is actually pretty irritating that you need to go online and download huge patches to get the complete game with the complete features now days. features should be included day one out of the box.
I really wish these had a simulation mode option where you actually had to take off and land in missions with real flight physics. It would add a lot of depth. Arcadey flight combat games are fine but real flight physics as an option would be nice for realism. They did that in the old days of PC gaming so it would be easy today.
Too bad the textures are so bad, they look like they are from the PS3 version. Would it have been too hard to upgrade the graphics? The graphics look so dated.
the first one was made with a fixed camera because the backgrounds were static pictures. They were static pictures because the PS1 didn't have the power to do full 3D environments that looked realistic.
Now we have the power.
And no they shouldn't go back to the fixed camera and god-awful controls of the first ones. The awful game play was scarier than the zombies. I am not sure you realize how bad the controls were, I think you are remembering ...
And why do you need it? TP isn't realistic at all unless in real life you are out of body and see yourself from the back as you walk. This is more immersive, and therefore, scary.
I don't get the obsession with having to have a remote controlled poly-guy on the screen. What because "it has always been like that"? That is not a good reason. Mario was always played as a flat 2d sprite on a background before Mario 64 came out in 3D and it was much better...
For something like this FPV is more immersive and scary. It is YOU in the action not some on screen poly-guy, it is more realistic. Plus you have no obstruction of the play area.
My only disappointment is that you can't kill the Bakers which is odd, I don't see the logic. I mean in real life if you get someone down and stunned, infected or not, you could dismember/burn them etc. so they can't come back. Here it looks like you pump in a few bullets then walk ...
It could be open world games, but not because we are tired of them. It could be because they take a lot of time. IfI am going to start Fallout 4 I will not be ready for another game for a long while. If I buy FO4, WD2, Skyrim remastered I will be done for months.
Well they could take more time fixing the bugs BEFORE they make and ship games out, you know, like they used to.
Maybe publishers should realize there is more than two months in a year.

Star Wars. You could almost release any piece of shit with the Star Wars name and it will sell.
If that same game was released with generic characters it would have bombed big time.
No. Procedural doesn't mean randomized. It is just a way that algorithms generate geometry, if the algorithms are the same the scenery will be the same for everyone.
