It's really simple.
For it to pose any threat to anything, it needs to have a lot of horsepower. They can't put out some underpowered device and expect it to compete with any hardcore gaming device.
I'm not saying only graphically impressive games are good. It's just that there's no point in an ouya or an apple equivalent if I can play games that are just as impressive on my phone.
That alien blaster was so powerful back on earth lol. Disintegrated everything.
Halo Combat Evolved had such an epic score. One of the best I've ever listened to.
Well, they should have stuck with ps3 price point.
Xbox should have stuck with xbox 360 price point WITHOUT kinect.
As far as multiplats go, it would have made a massive difference, especially with open world games being so popular now.
Still, they are quite powerful machines.
Yeah, as much as that's true, 10 years was too much. By that point, it was showing in multiplats. Simply put, it was holding multiplats back, especially 2011 +
Thing is, the leap isn't that big this time. When you reduce prices by $100, that's going to show in some way.
I'm super happy with the way exclusives are looking on consoles. Talk about QB, Uncharted 4, Driveclub. Tomorrow Children. Technical masterpieces. Beautiful.
Sure, it's just, when you see Witcher 3 in 2013, Watchdogs in 2013, The Division in 2013.
Then you see all 3 games completely downgraded from a technical aspect once consoles came out. It's not hard to be a little disappointed.
All I'm saying is, devs and players expected more brute performance. And it shows. The majority of multiplats simply aren't that impressive when in 2013 you saw that they wanted to do much more on the technical side.
...
Still doesn't change the fact that the performance leap is simply not as big as PS2 to PS3.
That's a fact.
And yes, Uncharted 4 looks absolutely mindblowing.
Absolutely, it's worth it. I don't get what the big deal is with a $50-100 price increase. People were acting like it would be the end of the world if it was $100 dollars more expensive. As if the previous generation was a huge disaster because of it.
So what if people can't get it on launch ? Just get it after a while. The consoles still would have been super successful, and almost everyone would have bought them eventually.
The increase in performance wo...
Well, they are planning on doing a lot of things with Elite, for a very, very long time in the future. We're talking 1:1 scale explorable planets of kinds, cities, landing zones.
Being able to get out of your ship.
The thing is, they have the base for what could be an amazing game. Right now, the scope and scale are insane. In the next update, you will literally be able to orbit certain planets and land on them and explore them 1:1.
Few years ...
That was insane. Crazy thing after crazy thing. No sense of pacing.
I freaking love it
xD
Well, just keep in mind that in most games it would be impractical to use all the features used in the demo. GI for example - if Star Citizen were to fully implement it, framerate would completely tank.
This is a more limited interior demo.
It's using GI and everything :)
That's nice and all.
Please release a redkit CDPR
You kept promising it for years. So much long term modding potential, don't let it die away.
What we've seen so far looks beautiful. The fact that they have a full volumetric cloud system with proper lighting and detail - in an open world game ? That's brilliant.
Very happy to see them pushing visuals. Ghost Recon Wildlands also looked absolutely spectacular. Can't wait to have open worlds with such fidelity.
Read the article people. The title is stupid, but the article is not what the title makes it out to be.
Did anyone read the article ?
Calm down guys, read the article first. He's not bashing Sony.
I'll admit the title is either clickbait or ignorant.
"How about funding Project CARS 2 with the money made from Project CARS?"
They are. Have you ever thought of the fact that they might need additional funding for a game of bigger scale ? To expand with other projects even ? Not to mention use that crowdfunding investment scheme to get a limited number of loyal backers to test the game just like last time.
Right, you just assume that they aren't using any of the money from the first game. Yes, ob...
@-Foxtrot
When you review Battlefield or COD, you focus more on the MP. Therefore SP constitutes less of the score as a result. It's just common sense.
Don't know what's so hard to understand. In a game where 95% of the gameplay hours and the focus is in MP, you want the SP to constitute an equal amount of the score ?
In that case, primarily Singleplayer games with tacked on multiplayer should be reviewed with equal importance given to mu...
True. This was my worry. It would have been ok if it launched with 15 or something... but yeah.
Anyhow, just wait till next year. At the same time, what they're planning might actually be good. Who knows ? Just have to wait and see.
