The stealth thing was a bit jarring, and I didn't like it either.

There's a big push from Sony's first party for advanced rendering. I really like that. Good examples are Driveclub and The Order. An even better example is Tomorrow Children. That game's lighting is the kind of thing I've been dreaming of for a long time. Unfortunately they probably can't apply that to a game with more complex visuals, but still, it'll get there.

Even seeing that with Quantum Break. They have GI too, and it looks spectacular.

Game looks beautiful :)

Don't know why people are disagreeing. With the Witcher 3, most PS4 owners agreed that locked 30 was better than 30-40 unstable.

The general consensus is that locked framerate is smoother.

Stretch goals stopped a long time back.

No more features are being considered. They have the full scope of the game that they are trying to make. Obviously it's going to take more than 2.5 years. People don't seem to get that

Just wait for the whole thing to come out. Yes, it's probably going to take till 2017 or something. That's not long. 5 years is like, the minimum for the development of a AAA mmo.

3947d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Why is it taking so long ? Sorry, but it's been less than 3 years in development. That's not long. A huge AAA game, an MMO, with a single player campaign to boot.

3 years of starting a huge company, contracting external studios, starting studios around the world. Reworking Cryengine significantly on the tech side. It was only in 2014 that CIG moved office to a much bigger place. It was only recently, in 2015, that they set up a studio in Frankfurt Germany. It'...

It's called developing a game.

Only people who are ignorant about Star Citizen expect a AAA MMO along with a Single Player campaign to be out only after what ? Barely 3 years of development.
Not even 3 years of development. 3 years of building a huge company and a crowdfunding platform and slowly acquiring funding, external studios to help.

I don't know why it's so hard to understand. Ofcourse it's going to take years and years to...

There's nothing wrong with the footage aside from the usual youtube compression.

It's just that this video is just a really bad comparison and doesn't say a thing about graphics. The video doesn't necessarily show that PCars looks better.
More colour and contrast don't mean better graphics. The location and lighting are just completely different to begin with !

People who've played enough games will know, after watching that v...

"For all you know he could have been responsible for another family losing their home or not having the money to eat because of his stealing. People stealing causes the people creating the games to lose jobs, or get lower pay. You aren't effecting the higher-ups, just under-cutting those who are in the same situation you are in. "

Wrong. You fail to grasp the situation with piracy of DIGITAL content. He's not undercutting anyone at all. In this case, as i...

Yes, because the two are exactly the same, right ?

Sorry, but there is zero logic in what you said. It's the same crap you hear every fanboy say for every single game. "COD gets 9 but this game gets 7 WTF IS THAT. HALO will get high but Order get low even though both linear hurr durr"

Seriously, think about what you said for a moment. It does not logically work. It's just the typical fanboy sentiment you see on every game that gets scored low....

no, they said they'll be doing games this year. Who knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm 100% sure we'll see something this year or next. I'm just worried it won't be what we want to see. The reason I'm saying that is their last video seemed to indicate pushing for SolidScan in games. So their project might be more about scanned environments and such, which might mean less dynamic elements.

Sorry, but that doesn't 'say' anything. Ofcourse Ford are using Forza and not Project Cars.
How on earth would SMS get Ford to use their data ? You realize Microsoft being behind Forza is a huge factor here ? Forza 6 is most likely a very good sim to begin with, but you do realize how deals like this often work ? Ford not using PCars doesn't mean PCars has worse simulation.

Yes, Forza 6 looks incredible, and yes, it's simulation is probably very g...

Don't all games use baked GI the same way ?

Whatever it is, RAD's lighting solution coupled with all their other tech looked incredible, that's for sure.

Calm down, he just said Forza 2 used it for the first time on console.

Everyone knows that overall, the Order is more visually impressive. I'm saying that aware of the fact that the two are completely different games.

Development wasn't in a good position to begin with, and Sony wasn't being particularly enthusiastic to talk with Respawn.

Microsoft took initiative in approaching and making a deal.

Also, don't know how many of you realize, but a game across both consoles is a huge deal. It's much harder for the studio. Let them get started on XBONE first. Why not ?

The same reason I'm happy as a PC gamer that Tomb Raider 2 is timed exclu...

They showed you a high end PC version in 2013. BEFORE CONSOLES EVEN CAME OUT.

The PS4 version they have now, is running properly

Sorry, but you can't blame Ubisoft for that. The same with WatchDogs. The same with CDPR's Witcher 3 (although most people will not apply the same logic to that game)

These games revealed at that time all had to be cutback when consoles did finally release. That's not their fault, it was just bad ti...

No, it's just that Ubisoft revealed a bunch of games back when they didn't even know the console specs.

Once consoles did come out, they had to tone things down because they had less power than the devs estimated. The exact same thing happened to Witcher 3 which was revealed at the time.

So, no, you can't say they were being deceptive or were falsely advertising. The timing was just unfortunate, as was the fact that they overestimated next gen p...

Don't understand people's mentality on this.
They showed the PS4 version in 2015. I get that the PC version is also probably downgraded, but that's besides the point. The 2013 PC version was showed BEFORE CONSOLES WERE RELEASED.

Devs overestimated console's raw power, so they have to tone things down to get it running now. It's that simple - it's just common sense.

Sorry, but they can't keep their 'promises' when ...
