It's not a dumpster fire though is it. BFV was a disappointment, yes but the franchise is still loved now and still has thousands of players playing each installment and it's still one of their largest IP outside of its sports titles.
There's been a lot of rumours about BF6 making sound like a big return to the modern era with BFV development stopped earlier to have all of DICEs teams working on it, I expect them to go all out after the lukewarm reception of BFV...
RayTracing is a massive waste if resources. It does look great but its being used as buzz word right now and something most gamers (which is not us hardcore gamers) wouldn't even notice over conventional lighting techniques we already have in games using have of the resources which could be greatly invested into AI, physics and other areas of game design.
I wish we could use trophy artwork as avatars. It would be a good way to use artwork that you probably wouldn't look at again after earning said trophy, even if it was just the platinum trophy artwork. It's something.
NFS Heat was a great game as was the self titled Need for Speed a few years back. Payback was absolutely awful though. I enjoyed NFS The Run a lot more and that was slammed in the reviews lol
The game is a masterpiece, and whilst the second game don't quite live up to its original, it's still one of greatest games since the original which says a lot.
T3 are the worst. For such a big publication the levels of bias shown in favour of MS is insane. How anyone can defend MS after years of neglect in the console sector is baffling to me.
You're willing to give up a console from a company that has countless GOTY awards and nominations covering a whole range of genres for a console that has a very mixed bag of titles because they now own Bethesda? Bethesda Softworks (not Tango, ID etc) produce some of the most dated, unpolished, poorly optimised, glitchy, graphically dated by release, poorly voice acted videos games in the industry but get a free pass from the media, when other games that have the same issues get slated for...
Tbf ES and Fallout are hardly fun games. Great story, absolutely tragic gameplay. It's not hard to believe this will be boring. Bethesda has some strong development studios with ID and Tango under its belt but it's own, Bethesda Softworks are absolutely trash.
I just want more arcade racers in general. Sometimes I just want fun rather than all these semi SIM/sim racers were plagued with these days. I mean some of the best racers of last gen were arcade racers. Motorstorm, Burnout Paradise, Split second.
You mentioned the defining genre of the generation and I replied to that? Your game of the generation will differ to mine. There's nothing wrong with you enjoying them games but when you realise that every single one uses the same blueprint, they become very samey no matter what setting, period, FoV it uses. I'm not saying they're bad in any way, you just know what you're getting yourself in for as soon as you know a game is open world.
Your game of the gene...
This generation was the generation of forced open world's in games that didn't need them. MGSV, Ghost Recon, FF15 just to name a few. Open worlds were over saturated this generation but nearly all of them follow the same flawed gameplay designs of go here, fetch this, kill them, clear out this camp, collect that.
Dreams should be built into the PS5 like the limited PS1 Yaroze (spelling?). That way everyone can at least try and see how games are made and if it's not for them, they can play user created games anyway. I think it's the perfect game to be built into a console and the file size is fairly small too.
Exactly. It's largely why a lot of people on Steam and twitch have stopped watching/playing. It needs more content and with season 2 around the corner, it will no doubt bring in a lot of players who stopped playing back. It's a great game but you cannot compare it in anyway to Fortnites success.
That's title is a reach. It's a great game and one I've out many hours into for some good old fun but it gets repetitive quickly. For a game like this to keep people playing, they're going to need constant new courses put out quite quickly.
The same with raytracing. Totally unneeded. The Last of Us 2's lighting is unreal, no tracing what so ever.
It's cool don't get me wrong but I just see it as a waste of resources, a exoensice one at that, that could be better spent elsewhere like AI and physics.
Ghost Recon. A game that played nothing like the last two and forced a unneeded open world into the mix. They will 100 percent try it with PoP and SC. Open world games are all the time at this point. I can't wait for people to realise this.
The fact that current gen hardware that is 7 years old, even older in with development time and able to produce ray tracing shows that once again how scummy Nvidia are by making you believe that you need to have a £600 graphics card to achieve the process.
You've missed out on some pretty good games. Boycotting a game for dodgy practices is fine but a whole publishers catalogue is a bit weird. Nobody would boycott a whole record label or film studio because of the actions of a few shit films/songs/artists/performers .
It's incredible how blind these massive publishers are from eachother. It weren't that long ago, 2Ks NBA and Capcom were under heavy scrutiny over the adverts in in SFV.
That being said you're playing a sports game. Any sports game is one massive advert anyway.
Until digital games are cheaper in the UK, I will never buy anything from the PS store brand new when I can buy it online or from a store which charges £15-£20 less to have it physically. 0
