Here's the problem. Nintendo gamers grow to like Nintendo games. Longstanding fans have been doing this for like 17 years. If you want to play Nintendo games, you must do on Nintendo hardware. I'd gladly shell out $600 for a Wii that didn't look so crappy. In fact have you ever seen a Wii model rendered propery with anti aliasing? It looks pretty darn respectable. Thats all most of us want. Not more polygons, not higher res textures, what we have is fine for the system - we just want ...
They already did. It's called sixaxis, just not on the PS2.
Anyway, is this really something to brag about? They only had like a 100 million headstart before the Wii was released. Basically what he's saying is that the Wii can't sell 100 million in 3 years, which is pretty obvious unless Nintendo step up the manufacture and put some better games out there.
God damn I hope we don't get another underpowered console. I don't think I could take it after the letdown the Wii has been
i wish people would stop using "ftw" and "epic fail". these were popular on the internet in 2005 but now its gone mainstream its god damn annoying, and very very old and tired.
How can he get fired? Isn't he the top dog?
I've seen these before, but the one I saw looked exactly the same minus the disc drive, instead it had a laptop HDD built in with some lights on the front (which perhaps signals which partition is in use)
I wish Nintendo would realise that it's not just graphics that benefit from a good system. With a more powerful CPU you can have more things happening at once, unlike this. I know the Wii was a gamble so they made it weak in case it was a failure, but come on guys, it's time to release the real console now.
It's a publicity stunt, plain as day. The game isn't selling as well so they come up with something to get them in the media. There is no such thing as bad press.
Newsflash: Nintendo still sell GC peripherals and the Wii plays GC games. If Sony's current gen console was doing well, they would have cut the PS2 also, but there is a too big user base.
I'm at a loss for words. If Nintendo ruins it's key franchises making them "more accessible", well that's a 17 year relationship down the drain. I hope they don't do it.
Dear Nintendo
I am a huge user of Virtual Console, and I probably would be of WiiWare too, but I have run out of space. It takes up to 5 minutes to copy and/or delete an N64 game, which is significantly longer than it takes for me to dig out the actual N64 cart and pop it in my N64. Something is wrong. Nintendo, I want to give you money, but you are making it extremely difficult and time consuming for me to do so.
For a moment I was worried, but somehow I trust Miyamoto.
Misleading title. This is not information, it's pure speculation. Rubbish article.
"We can _probably_ expect a load of Wii - DS functionalities and _maybe_ even a FPS-mode... "
I'm sick of people saying "epic fail", like it's new and trendy. Please, we've been using this meme for like 2 years on 4chan and it's god damn old now. Stop it.
I don't see how you can claim on patent infringement if the infringer has done so before you even patented it. It's like holy crap, Nintendo travelled to the future and stole my idea.
Looks like that ugly SF Generations artwork. Would have been better if they got the SF Alpha movie guys to work on it.
The best thing Sega could do would be to downsize. They have 3x more employees than Nintendo, and their turnover is small in comparison. My personal opinion is that Sega NEEDS to merge with Nintendo. Sega and Nintendo were, and still are the gaming roots for many current gamers, and they made good games before this casual vs hardcore thing even existed. Sega and Nintendo are more alike than we give credit for, hence the battles of the past. They were both competing for the same market. ...
Ocarina of Time, the whole last Ganondoft/Ganon fight. Every thing about it was pure epic.
Not so much that Wiiware is confusing, more like, "HEY LOOK AT OUR PLATFORM, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT AND STUFF"
This is complete BS. You cannot match the quality of the original film. I remember industrial light and magic was rendering stuff for star wars at 5000x5000 and that was 10 years ago. Don't tell me that a 1920x1080 Bluray can look better. I certainly doubt it would sound better too because cinemas have awesome sound systems.
