Hats off to IGN for a short but informative run down. It was nice to see them point our what made each console unique and how they played a part in how console gaming has got to where it is today. I wasn't convinced by some of the placings, but on the whole, fanboyism taken into account, I say it was pretty accurate.
Yep, regional pricing sucks. I don't really know how they get away with it. Wouldn't it be considered type of prejudice? Ie company X is charging me more for this product because of where I come from.
Joking aside, £250 is better, but still not "there". If it was closer to £200, I'd seriously consider it, even £225. It's not that I can't afford it (just spent £520 on a new DSLR), it's just that I don't feel it's worth that much.
I had high hopes for this, but it looks cheap and nasty next to the original PS3
Hah. I knew this would happen. It was known long before that bluray has a thinner protective layer than DVD or HD-DVD. GJ Sony
Sony are going the exact same way as Sega. Once popular with a rabid fan base. Trips up one generation by making a machine that is difficult to code for and re-releasing hardware in different forms.
She's pretty nice, but I don't think that it needs to be top story on a gaming website. It's not that amazing.
Good job Nintendo, about time we saw this. Also good job on releasing Majoras Mask too. Keep it up.
This guy is stupid. First PS3 vs Wii is same generation, wheras PS2 vs N64 was different generation. However I will give him the benefit of the doubt if he is referring to that in a purely technical sense, however since the units were not in direct competition, it's still dumb.
If he wants to compare PS1 vs N64 against PS3 and Wii, then he has a point. The weaker system with the most shovelware won and the more powerful system with best great:crap ratio, lost. If he was to co...
Have you even played a game to completion? 400 cars is enough. I got 350 on Forza 2 and it took me since release date to get them all (to be honest I could have done it much sooner, but didnt feel like marathoning it).
Yeah, variation is nice, but I don't want 10 versions of the same car. It was bad enough in Forza 2 with all the Supras. Just give me base/production models.
I kind of hope it isn't 1080p. There would be nothing worse than pushing the console just to meet numbers and for the game to suffer slowdown at some points. 720p 60fps is fine thanks, just put that leftover CPU power to higher textures or even better physics thanks.
Interesting idea, but not the best. Is this for internet connectivity, or is it just for devices to talk to eachother relaying DRM information and stuff? Unless there is another piece to this, then I don't see how useful a proprietary connector will be. How exactly will it integrate with your existing network? How will it be used by the companies, to spy on you?
Not that I condone piracy, but I think this is another measure to stop people playing copies. I guess new HD conte...
Haha. Ken is for noobs? Lol. Try Akuma. Mr Broken is about as noob friendly as it gets. I don't claim to be great, but I have beaten a top 10 Guile player a few times, and some other really good, well known players too. Ken isn't as good as Ryu in ST/HDR, but he certainly isn't autowin for noobs. Fact is, if I can take out the best Giefs and Guiles online, you know Ken doesn't suck and can be played well.
I think Nintendo have creamed enough income off of people who bought the system. Seriously, it's nowhere near as advanced as the Xbox, yet it costs more. What the hell?
Nice video piratefag. It's guys like him who get homebrew a bad name in as much that all the companies see homebrew is a way to pirate games. That list is obviously downloaded stuff too.
Oh yeah, that GUI is fecking ugly too.
Windows 7 is significanly faster than Vista, and XP is showing it's age. But more than that, manufacturers will slowly begin to drop XP, forcing people to move on. I will definately get Windows 7 at some point. Vista felt like an incredibly bloated incremental upgrade over XP, but Windows 7 feels like a real successor to XP.
As for Linux. I've been usin openSuSE recently. It's a nice system but I can see why it hasn't made it mainstream. It's just too much of a pain in the ...
i gotta say, i used to be a nintendo fanboy, up until about 3 years ago when the wii released. all the crap that has happened since has further distanced me from nintendo.
so much for market expansion, if only 3 years in, the japanese market is already saturated. nintendo should have kept it simple and went the way of n64. good graphics for its times but quality games.
the wii has about as many games as the n64, but most of them suck.
Try to follow me on this one.
""The speed with which people get tired of any new entertainment is faster in Japan than in overseas markets," Iwata said."
So the Wii launched in 2006 and people are tired of it. As it happens, the PS3 also launched at the same time, but it appears people are not tired of it, since it is experiencing a sales growth. This is despite the fact that Nintendo think that people would rather go for the new ideas rather th...
Oh hang on. Early April fools? I thought it seemed to good to be true.
I nearly threw my laptop up in the air in rejoice, but then I realised that it will probably just be identical to the N64 game but with Wii controls, similar to the play control gamecube games. If this is the case, I expect it to be a WiiWare game rather than a retail game.
If I had the money, I'd personally fund an OoT remake with updated visuals and audio, but we need to face the fact that for Nintendo to revamp OoT so much, is almost like creating a TP sequel in terms of work...
Forza 3 will walk over GT5.
I've been playing GT5 recently, and I like the presentation and feel of the game, but I honestly prefer Forza 2. I believe the physics are more realistic in Forza 2 except sometimes the cars feel weightless. Also the aspect of being able to paint and upgrade your car means you feel proud, not only for your driving skills when you win, but for your tuning too. Throw in the livery editor and you have a level of personalisation that GT5 just doesn't ha...
