The casuals I know are more interested in graphics than simple to play games.

Better graphics, better games.

I'm not a Nintendo hater, just an old school fan who is dissapointed in what Nintendo has been reduced to.

It won't work. People will just turn it sideways (the right way) because then the hing will be on the left and it will be easy to open. If they want it landscape, they need to make it like a CD case and have it open right to left with the hinge on the left.

I just find it hilarious how they have the gall to say Nintendo copied them. Yeah, Ok MS, Nintendo went who knows how many years into the future and stole your idea.

The fact is Miyamoto has been working with something like this on and off since the days of the NES (remember that thing where you could make faces?), but he never really new how he could integrate it and make it entertaining, until the Wii came along with integrated storage.

Ok, MS so planned this ahea...

The only way you could make a console forward compatible is to make is over powerful right now and make the games on it only use half the power, that way the next console can be more powerful, but the previous Xbox can still play them. However that would make upgrading pointless. The other way is to make a system however powerful, and the Xbox after that the same power, but then we would have Wii syndrome where everything looks unimpressive.

That control is hilarious. Don't they realise that the PS4 will use the same basic control as the PS3, PS2 and PS1?

Guys, you need to read this very carefully and take it literally.

"We will make it so that, when there is not enough room on the Wii's internal memory, you will be able to purchase and download Virtual Console and WiiWare software directly from the Shopping Channel to an SD memory card."

In other words when you go to download some software, it will give you the option to save to SD card or save to internal memory. It doesn't necessarily mean that you can p...

Does it really take an "industry veteran" to speculate that a new console will come at around the end of the 5 year cycle? No, any gamer could come up with that on their own. I wish they would do something worthwhile.

lost any credibility when he mentioned mario 64. he might as well have said ocarina of time because they were both as important as eachother. mario 64 was the first true 3d game with freedom when others were just linear and made little to no use of 3d.

i wasnt best pleased with him voting sonic 3 either as that was my favourite game as a kid, but ill give him that as what he said was mostly right. not a bad game in itself, but not hugely better than sonic 2. however if he too...

Don't get excited. Sounds just like the Wii dev kits. I think they have ~32 or ~64GB HDDs (IIRC it had 4 or 8 LEDs on the front to show which partition was selected and the games will be 8GB max).

This is exactly right. When someone (I think IGN) asked Nintendo if they were coming to Leipzig, they responded with something along the lines of they will attend these kind of conventions when they have something newsworthy. In other words they didn't attend Leipzig because they had nothing worth showing. They are also not attending E for All, presumably because they still have nothing worth showing (which is also backed up by the 2008 release schedule. Nothing remotely first party/inter...

I believe this is what they term in the industry as "owned". You go to sue a company for some BS patent infringement, and you end up paying THEM. Frigging awesome. I hate MS, but they have my respect on this one.

If this continues to happen, I could feasibly see Nintendo saying "F you" to the American market. It's strange how no other country tries to sue at all.

The problem isn't how many directions the D-pad can register, it's just that sh1tty design. Give us a proper D-pad that isn't a plastic circle on top of a stick on a ball joint. Give us something that has some kind of form where you can feel the direction. Up until now I used to the the PS D-pad was the worse (used to wear your thumbs out with the retarded triangles), but I think the 360 takes the crown. At least with the PS pad you can feel a distinct difference between the directions

"One example Intel likes to give out when talking about the new speed is that transferring a 27GB HD movie to your future media player will only take 70 seconds with USB 3.0, while it would take 15 minutes or more with 2.0"

One problem. 4.8gbps is 600MB/s. Show me a harddrive that can read or write that. In fact I have a 4 disk RAID 0 array and that can only write 264MB/s max.

Reading the disc is not the problem, it's the slot loading drive. If you try to load a disc with brushes on the underside, it may cause problems for the loading mechanism, and they will probably fall off inside or get stuck in the disc slot.
