The problem with waiting is that there is ALREADY too much content - and too little time. I'm barely through Darksiders 2 (picked it up on sale), Metroid Prime I'm half way through only one, I have MarioKart I'm only half way through, Batyonetta 2 only half through .... Smash Bros .. .sheesh .. and I have more uncompleted I know.

I just don't have enough time, particularly when there is back catalog like Metroid Prime that I have never played before.

I know. It boggled my mind as I find the Pro Controller to be so comfortable.

Who would use this over a Pro Controller? Seriously?!

Historically I've found the 80 score to be "iffy" when I played them. Some were great mind you, but many were meh.

So just my personal experience - I tend to try to stay over 85 unless the game is very specifically something I want and I've read the reviews in detail to ensure the concerns expressed in the review won't impact.

I'm a grown man too, and I never played Nintendo when I was younger (which means I'm way older than you), but am now getting into it - and loving the experiences.

I've purchased Smash, DKTF, Mario 3D, MairoKart, Dues Ex, Metroid Prime, Zelda WW, Rayman, Pikmin, Darksiders, Wonderful 101, and of course the Bayonettas.

I think the experience depends on where in your life you are.

One thing happened - as Tsunamai in Japan that set development back.

Get WindWaker - I hadn't played Zelda before either, and it was really great fun. Did you get Metroid Prime?

4026d ago 7 agree0 disagreeView comment

Do you really consider 80 to be a good score? I'm usually looking at 85 as a minimum but prefer 90+

75-80 I have to be careful about.

I really like the gamepad, but on Smash I have to agree the Pro controller is better. Wish it worked on Metroid Prime, but alas ...

Huh? I'm with jholden on this one. Battery life is fantastic. What exactly did you buy because it wasn't a Wii U pro controller if you're complaining about battery life.

I don't think they "force you" to do anything. But if we are going to talk about gimmicks that waste money, how about the "forced" monthly membership for internet play on the PS4 and X1?

Most of my controllers were actually controllers that had been used with the Wii ... the only new controller was the Pro Controller bought recently for Smash.

... and I'm sure you must know the Wii U is profitable. X1 and PS4, I don't know - ...

Well I might have agreed with the PC (most powerful gaming machine going, with access to almost all 3rd party), but really ... a PS4 and X1 that have yet to provide many games of any quality?

At the end of this year, maybe, but the gaming experience on the Wii U is presently far superior.

I agree nerdeu. If you're doing a like for like comparison, then LOU should come out of this. I don't see anything in the PS3 column that is a simple port of a AAA rated PS2 game.

Clearly this gerrymanders the scoring. Take it out and you're down to a 73% score. Still ... within range of the PS3 though.

The more interesting factor to me was the sheer number of PS3 v PS4 exclusives. 50% more PS3.

No - I'll take "good" rehashes from any system.

Resistance, Uncharted, Infamous, Halo, Resident Evil ... all had rehashes.

4027d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

I'd agree that at the moment Wii U has the games. I have spent way too many hours this past year on Bayonetta, DKTF, MarioKart, Smash, and older AAA re-released such as Metroid Prime and Zelda WW. I can pretty much be assured that I get a good experience from the Nintendo product.

That being said, the Wii U had a year's head start, and I expect X1 and PS4 to come up to their level by the end of the year.

And that means what? I'm happy to have Metacritic provide scoring on Nintendo, MS, Sony and other products.

What exactly was your message?

4027d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

So "who" exactly has an issue with Metacritic:

1)"Nex Gen" fanboy purchasers who are concerned their purchase was a mistake, given the games?

2) Game producers who have been putting out crap and expecting us to purchase it?

3) Game developers who receive compensation based on results?

4) Sony and MS who may have over-hyped their nex gen experience?

Frankly I don't know and I don't ...

Metacritic is just fine, thank you. It serves a purpose for myself and many other gamers. I used to have to follow particular reviewers who I trusted, but Metacritic provides a better platform, and if I need to I can drill down into the specific reviews.

I'm not stupid enough to buy games blindly. Sorry .. not happening. It also doesn't mean that I will listen to it blindly - I bought Zombi U which only scores 77 (I tend to stay above 85), but I'll dig into re...

@Spotie... so what are you questioning? This review was 95 and the next closest on the list was only 80 ... and it drops to a 65 average. It isn't a question of my believing, it is a fact.

As for the game, I personally think it looks beautiful - I just won't buy it on beauty alone. Neither will a lot of other people.

Actually I have been a CFO for over 25 years, so yes, I actually do know something.

I know that sometimes the strategic plan forward includes selling your most profitable division. Don't sound so shocked. Maybe Google or Apple will want in and pay well for it?
