How are SONY specs better? The new specs are unknown and the T2-Specs are 2x720p whereas the Oculus-Specs are 1 shared 1080p.
ALso the experience is by far better on the Oculus versus the T2 (the new one being unknown). Don't get me wrong, I hope the new SONY-device will be awesome, but I am not going to pay $1000 for it when it is like looking at a big TV and I can buy something that fills my entire view for $300.
Kinect totally isn't.
Go and try Oculus and then come back and say Kinect is in the same league. I dare you.
Both in combination however could be nice.
Yeah, it was a year ago and overpriced already back then. It didn't sell very well, so a reduced price seems logical. Plus you probably meant the T1. I meant the T2, but still it is currently 'only' at $799 at Amazon. With this price however I don't see them pushing out something qualitatively in the range of the occulus while being affordable.
Still looking through it is like looking at a big TV, right? WIth the Oculus it is like real looking. You don't s...
Cool, totally missed that. I just know about their 999$ 3D-display only from last year.
I believe this will only be a 3D-display, which is amazing enough, but I don't think it will feature head-tracking. SONYs last device didn't. But if it does and comes at a reasonable price I wouldn't mind owning one.
Actually sounds like 'just' a 3D-display. If they don't have the headtracking in it, i'll wait for the rift. But if they do... OMG.
Windows 8 is the best windows so far.
(buying a PS4 if that is relevant to this discussion)
The awkward moment when you realize that the X-Box needed it to prevent disc swapping due to lack of blu ray.
Also is it awkward much that the X-Box now gets bluray, several years after claiming it is not necessary?
Yeah, Head-Tracking isn't all that great because you look turn your head away from the screen to make the screen show something else and then you cross your eyes to still see the screen... even looking to the side with the second stick is annoying because inprecise and then distorts the feel for steering... but let me tell you... with Oculus this will become extremely awesome. I tried it recently and looking into corners while still having the perfect feel for steering is probably one of ...
And he even says that a PS4-version is possible. I would totally invest in a stretch-goal for that!
No, because Killzone, inFamous and WatchDogs weren't playable. Plus DriveClub, while still pretty good, was slightly less good than I expected.
I did expect at least one triple-A title, and other than most people I don't have a problem to admit that I was a little disappointed with the SONY conference. However at least we had several really good ones before that clearly understood what we as gamers wanted. ALso I don't feel the need to tell you that on SONY booths...
I kinda wanted to write a detailed and eloquent answer on why most of the points in the article are completely without basis but I feel like just writing: #secondstupidestarticleever!
I played the game at GamesCom and the controls are horrible. Maybe they tweak them a little until release and one will certainly get used to them but as they are right now they are just terrible.
I played my fair share of arcade racers and I was able to stay close to the car that needed ramming for the most part but when it turned suddenly it was close to impossible to follow it without crashing into something... even on a straight street trying to pass cars in a lane was dif...
Not sure? WIll it come to X360? In that case feel free to call me Jon Snow concerning the question why destiny didn't win best next gen game.
Destiny is a cross-generation game and probably didn't win this award because of that fact alone. The same goes for WatchDogs. inFamous could totally have taken the spot but I didn't see it at the Convention at all, so maybe if a game isn't on the showfloor it can't win? It most certainly was in the non-public area but I am not sure how they judge this.
"From navigational voice commands to facial recognition, the PlayStation Camera adds incredible innovation to your gaming."
Amazon-Product-Description for PS4-camera.
I'm plenty excited, even though GamesCom somewhat dampened my excitement-level.
1. I don't think that really applies as Second Screen but rather Local LAN based CrossPlay. Should work. Could be great.
2. I really don'T need to see those other lifes while I am playing. ANd if I must watch it, why not just press a button on the pad and see it on the main-screen, or Picture in picture (like heavenly sowrd)
3. Getting killed while looking away from main-gameplay... I think that'll never really work.
Madden is an example that I can...
Actually I never understood the Second Screen stuff. In theory it's cool and all but I don't want to look away from the main gameplay. What good is a map in a shooter for example. You are looking at the map and you're dead. Or in Racers or anywhere. It really only works in slow games and even then. Why not have it on the main screen?
Using it to play stuff on the go (not just remote but also like in Division) ia another thing and really cool. even using it watchin...
It's 1080p already plus it sports real time Global Illumination, which no other console racer can claim for itself. So you may have to live with 30fps.
