Enjoy your few hour trash distraction. Quality is unappreciated these days.
Your entire argument is predicated on us caring about the utter crap that is mobile games. When mobile developers are producing games of dramatically lower quality than dedicated platforms, we could care less if they sell more to the low-quality-loving sheep casuals of the world.
Just because you prefer mediocre games doesn't mean that you should expect us to as well. Enjoy the "success" of your gutter trash.
Eat crow? Sorry, I won't buy ...
You forgot Heroes of Ruin.
Hyped to no end.
Delayed.
What was released was a steaming pile of crap.
What happened is that they attempted to make an ARPG genre game and didn't understand the genre in the first place.
N-space is a terrible studio. I'm glad they won't be making any games for Nintendo. Nintendo can spend their resources promoting games from decent studios.
I'm saying that opinion pieces shouldn't be played off as if they are widely held and good advice.
This is one of those typical, "I have an opinion, so I'm going to write about it and you should heed my words" crap.
That sort of article is fine: if the opinion is widely held. But this one isn't. You have to know your audience.
I just hate this. I hate how anybody can post whatever the hell they want on the internet without any journalism experience and pretend like they are a journalist.
Funny, because I'm a core gamer, own a 3DS, and none of my titles that I play would be considered "casual" by anyone's standard (FE, MegaTen, Resident evil etc).
And they never mentioned how much memory cards were going to cost at that time.
A nice little, "BTW our proprietary memory cards will set you back another 70 bucks."
Even at 250, the 3DS still shifted more units that the DS during its launch.
Nintendo systems always start slow.
And fans comment on it the same way every time and ignore the data.
The truth is that you seem to want the 3DS to do badly, so you narrow your analysis to the small part of its life that supports your position.
dark-hollow nailed it.
This isn't about uncharted and gravity rush not being good games. Unlike ninty games, they only appeal to a narrow market. And that is Sony's general problem: they target a very narrow market.
Everybody hates on Nintendo, but the truth is that their games appeal to a much wider gamer base than Sony or MS. You can be 5 or 50 and still like the gameplay of many Nintendo games. Plus, they still have the niche games like MegaTe...
"I don't like something so no one else could possibly like it!"
"I write online! This makes me a JOURNALIST!"
Troll article.
You all created this situation by pirating games. Companies use this to offset the money lost to pirates. If you don't like paid DLC, stop pirating.
If a game is 60 dollars and crap it is because the developer thinks they can get away with making crap and still charging that. They think people will buy it anyway.
There are many games worth the 60 dollars. We need to stop buying the ones that aren't worth it to send a message to studios that we won't give them money if they keep turning out inferior products.
Bubble up.
Ha ha. It could be a MegaTen character.
I really want a Vita too, but very few of the full release games appeal to me, and those that do I can get more than adequate counterparts on 3DS. The Vita just isn't marketed to me. It is marketed to a different demographic.
The hinge "issue", in my experience, really comes down to how much you beat it up yourself on the modern systems. The hinges naturally get looser the longer you have any DS/3DS/3DSXL system. DS Phat was very much a design flaw, but its far better than that now.
XL is overall a better machine, with a few exceptions.
The buttons/switches are far better quality.
The battery lasts longer.
The unit is overall more durable (in my opinion).
It is easier to hold for a lot of people.
The screen is bigger with the same pixel count, but unless you have super human eyes or are really bothered by it you hardly notice.
The speakers are noticeably worse.
Well, it would help if it were spelled correctly.
The article spells it correctly but the link here doesn't.
ZEALOUS.
So, Canary may know what zealous means, but may not understand that it was that adjective rather than some other game company or term...because of the stupid typo.
The 3DS is now at a point where there are easily dozens more great games than what a recent purchaser or veteran of the handheld can afford. That's a good thing. There is always something to save up for.
Plus, Pokemon and Super Smash in the pipe, coming up.
The fact is that Nintendo handhelds have always started slow and then dominated the market after they enter their prime. Yet, you always hear naysayers acting like slow sales at the start are the...
I'm all for winning the casual crowd over.
I am definitely not for gamers who act like we should surrender to casual games and give up the quality full release titles we love.
