The only Vita category that appeals to me is the RPG segment, and that alone isn't a system seller for me. This isn't about the price of one or the other. I can't afford both right now. Someday I'll buy one. It just frustrates me that many Vita fans here act like I should like the games they like, or that the tech specs on the unit should be enough.
The Vita has some great games...that are all in very narrow niches targeted at a very narrow demographic.
Sony (and Sony fans) don't seem to understand or are unwilling to admit that not every gamer in the world likes guns, cars and sports. Thats pretty much all you can get on the Vita. And that's great. But I'm 37 years old, and I'm not interested in those things anymore. I've moved on. I want intellectual games. Little kids don't want that eith...
Just so you know, I had no idea Mario Golf was releasing, so by putting it on there you succeeded in informing a gamer. ;)
I can't imagine how Smash Bros for 3DS can't also be on a list of most anticipated.
It has always said TBD and was teased for this year, but there was never any confirmation of that.
How do you pause your game when you get a call? How do you do that over multiplayer?
Until you can answer those questions, this won't work.
This surprises anyone?
You can't expect your NICHE hobby to be identifiable by the general public. Its naive to think that the general populace would have the same knowledge set as you.
I think comparing a game of this nature to Minecraft is grossly unfair. Why don't you just compare Gunman Clive to Battlefield and lament how "terrible" Gunman Clive is? Or talk about how that Filet Minon was better than a McDonald's cheeseburger? Well, duh.
That said, I was in an impulse buying mood last night. Chose not to get this (my finger hovered over "purchase"), but got Devil Survivor:Overclocked instead (at greater expense obviously). ...
The JRPG was never in trouble in the first place...it just moved to handhelds, where it had a strong market.
If you want JRPGs back on consoles, stop buying first person shooters. Companies do this for money, not for you, and FPS' are what sell. Many of you are lamenting the "decline" of the JRPG, but you are really the one who forced it off consoles with your purchasing habits.
It has been confirmed that Double Dragon for 3DS VC supports download two player co-op with only one version of the game.

Naturally, game "journalists" online never confirm anything they say.
The vitriole between gamers of different systems suggest that gamers can't empathize with others. Not that they can't think for themselves. In fact, that is the REAL problem in my opinion. They think TOO MUCH about themselves, and not about the likes and needs of others.
Also can't update streetpass.
What will you do if she's correct?
Definitely agree that it has not been a "great" year for WiiU, by any stretch of the imagination.
There has been a glut of great content on 3DS this year. I have way more stuff waiting in the wings than I have time to play and I am still highly anticipating SSB and Bravely Default next year.
You a system has entered its prime when there are more games that you want to play than you have money for and you haven't finished the ones you've already bought. Its been that kind of year for 3DS.
I would totally get a Vita too if it had a lineup that appealed to me more as a gamer. The 3G one is appealing to me.
Wow, clueless blogger. 3D Land released for the 3DS in 2011. I guess it may be easy to confuse it with Super Mario 3D WORLD, which just released on Wii U.
So, I'm not sure what the disagree vote is all about on the poster above. The article IS two years late to the party, and reveals ignorance.
The demographic that plays this game (myself included) have played countless games with "kiddy" art styles but rich gameplay. Etrian Odyssey, for example. The gameplay is all that matters. An art style would do absolutely nothing to influence the sales of the game.
So, the difference is that, of all the things a Persona fanboy could whine about, the art style is the least of our worries.
But I misspoke. You're clearly not a Persona fanboy. ...
Have you actually played a Persona game? LOL
Will the 3G version require a contract/subscription to use that functionality?
Its the same group that thinks that firing a sports coach will suddenly fix everything. Often times they will fire coaches who have winning records because they aren't winning "enough".
Reactionary reform never works. It accomplishes nothing other than make people feel better. It is emotion-pandering.
