Sounds like another woman trying to meld a man into what she thinks he should be.

Get married in your own sweet time, don't let anyone tell you when to stop doing the things you love.

I'm married with 2 kids, full time job and all that good stuff and still play games. Admittedly, I don't have the time I would if I was single, but that's ok. I still fill in the gaming time in the cracks somewhere.

My only complaint is THERE'S TOO MANY DAMN GOOD ...

1/3-1/2 of all 360's will RROD. Microsoft mails out ice packs and instructs customers to either keep their thermostat on 26 deg F. or keep the machine on ice.

The Wii will come out with 142 new titles all centered on the concept of playing mini games.

Factor 5's yet unnamed, exclusive PS3 title is called Extreme Dodgeball and requires only the Six Axis.

Game looks to have amazing potential. I hope they don't focus so much on one thing ie the Force in it that they neglect the other necessary elements, but from the video it looks to be firing on all cylinders.

My kids will lose their mind. They live, eat and breathe Star Wars. It's amazing something I grew up with still impacts kids as much today as ever.

You also have to factor in prices on next gen games are higher than previous systems, so selling fewer units can still prove more profitable.

Sony might want to sweeten the pot to get the release out in a timely manner, but maybe that is setting a bad precedent for them.

Maybe Microsoft should have Sony architect the XBox 720... just saying

This is no more childish than a public protest or a strike against a corporation. What happens when people protest or strike? They carry signs in a public forum explaining the wrongs for all to see putting pressure on the corporation/entity in hopes of change.

Emailing a well thought out response is a good option, but often that finds its way into the trash bin. I don't condone spamming email for the sake of spamming, that accomplishes nothing.

Amazon removed the 1 *'s, seems hardly fair since she was allowed to bash ME on TV without being censored.

Fight back, leave a 1 * with the impression you read the book, not based on her TV interview.

Graphics don't live up to the 'better' tiered shooters.

Why start the demo out in a cave? I was bumbling around looking for light rather then enjoying the thing. If they were attempting to give you a sense of dread, I didn't feel it.

The AI was lacking in both good and bad guys. My guys just stood there with their backs to the dinos as they came charging up.

I was probably going to get this before I played the demo, but not after.

What a baseless article.

I have my choice to get a new or used: car, house, DVD, computer, book (library is free), MP3 player, furniture, etc, etc, etc. Just go to ebay and everything under the sun can be found used.

Don't tell me the consumer has to adjust to support the greed of the developers/publishers. Quite the opposite. You have goods to sell to us, make it worthwhile to 1) buy your product 2) keep your product

Game developers aren't goi...

I thought he was more open than you would expect from an exec in MS (or Sony, Nintendo). These type of interviews never really tell anyone anything.

I own a PS3 and would get a 360 also if not for 2 things: That ridiculous cost to add WiFi and the 1/3 failure rate. I have no love/hate for either console and think some of the 360 exclusives look very interesting. No reason to put down one system for the other.

I think the 360 will do well with its software library. The PS3 will have a good '08 also.

BTW: I also have a Wii and it's a great system for entirely different reasons than the 360/PS3

Why can't studios put out content in both formats? I haven't understood why studios take one side or the other when putting out both formats would be more financially sound... Other than Microsoft tossing them
a bag full of money not to.

Alot of games are multi console and it's a heck of alot more work to make games for 2 different systems then it is to make movies for 2 formats.

Boy, with all the drama and energy put into advertising and marketing for this game. If some of that was channeled into development, maybe they could have made a decent game.

In defending the launch price, there was a statement from a Sony executive in Japan that went along the lines of the PS3 is a system people should feel the need to work extra hours to buy. I know I'm not quoting exactly and the name slips my mind, but that single statement alone did alot to fan the arrogance flames.

On another note, I think the 10 year plan might not be the best way to go. The PS3 is not seen as a generation beyond the 360... they are widely perceived as neck...

Why this game isn't selling better is beyond me. If the general impression is that it's a kids only game, nothing could be farther from the truth.

Talk about horrible timing. Even if the spin is correct and he was fired for a combination of things, how bad does Gamespot look now?

They need to consider future advertising. How can you give an unbiased report when someone is paying you to advertise the very game you are reporting on?

It was mentioned in the article that the K&L ads directed you to the review. Well, there you go proof positive that the review was expected to fall in line.

Is it still too early to know if the changes have resulted in a significant decrease of failures? I'm considering picking up a 360 but the one thing holding me back is the absurd failure rate. If indeed MS has solved the issues, might be time to jump in.

On a side note, I'm astonished a commercial hardware product is out there with 1/3 fatal failure rate. I've worked in various hardware based industries: cell phones, pagers, phone switches and failure rates on even 1% of the...

Interesting article. If you court the casual gamer, you have to be prepared to impress them with that shiny wedding ring and figure out how to keep them past that newlywed phase. Of course you have your college buddy Bob sleeping on the couch that still wants to go out drinking... how to keep the both happy? It will be interesting to see how Nintendo and 3rd parties do it.
