I have no clue what my gamerscore is or how many trophies I have. While it is nice to see the little indicator that I earned a trophy or got an achievement, to me it's purely by chance as I usually don't know what I needed to do to get it in the first place.

There's only been one recent game I recall going back and trying to find everything and that was Batman AA. I did it for the story and not the trophies, because it was fun and didn't feel like a chore like most games make...

I did my part in that total (or at least Santa did)

Doomed to fail. For every 1 person that reviews a reviewer based on that person's effectiveness to carry out valid, unbiased and professional reviews you will have 9 others that rate them based on whether they agree with the score or not. If the review of the reviewer had any bearing on that person's job security, you can bet their reviews would no longer be about the quality of the game and all about keeping their job.

Batman AA and Wolverine were 2 quality comic book/movie inspired games that didn't suck. I would hope publishers/devs would take note and learn the lessons from the past that they can make a quality game based on a comic hero if they aren't just looking for the quick cash in.

Yes, you are correct Homicide. If you search it is there at the end in white text against the white background. Interesting. I wonder why they did that? Maybe wanted to advertise it to Metacritic without giving a score out to the public.

It baffles my mind that in an industry that generates as much sales as the gaming industry, developers are going out of business, publishers show losses every quarter, even in this recession. The business model of how they create these games is broken except for the scant few titles like COD, Halo, etc that bring in tons of money. Just look at Konami that said they can't make money unless they are releasing a MGS game in that fiscal year. The development budgets are bloated and the whole ...

I think this one will be a fun, sleeper hit. Along the lines of how Borderlands was unexpected. The gameplay just looks wacky and alot of fun. Has Eidos turned around their bad fortune from early in the generation with titles like Kane and Lynch to successes like Batman AA and (possibly)Just Cause 2? Only the shadow knows.

Where on the site does it show a 7.5? Was this score extrapoltated by the review content?

Dark Cloud was just so so in my book, but I loved Jeanne D'Arc. One of my favorite games of this generation. I had high hopes for this one. Maybe it will be a rental to give it a try.

There are strong things Japan does with RPG's and there are strong things the West does with RPG's. Hopefully, we can start seeing some newer RPG's come out that can successfully blend the two.

Early in my career (early 90's), I worked as a SW developer at IBM. At the time MS was a smaller, lighter company that was the mecca for "driven" SW developers to want to work for. You had to be more of an A type personality to work there as people were very aggressive, moving up the chain as they weeded out the "lesser" employees (and making a ton of money in the process). This was a good asset for a company like MS at the time. However, as MS became the behemoth it i...

MS isn't about to release a new next gen console. The only thing they may do is release a Natal/360 hybrid in the near future which still plays 360 games. The economy and the fact that developers aren't going to drop current gen and devote efforts to next gen when this current gen is in its prime, show the writing on the wall that a next gen console now is a bad business decision.

MS may still release their unit ahead of the PS4, probably still 3 or 4 years off. By then the ...

I got through this game in 5 hours and don't play multiplayer. Thankfully, my neighbor loaned it to me, but he was very disappointed in what he paid toward what he was getting.

Bring it on. I love hack and slash.

When the game is a packaged good on a retailer shelf, buyers control the price history of that game much more than a publisher. The retailer needs to move slow selling games to make more shelf space. The used market drives down the price of the new game. Within months, most games have dropped at least $20.00 and some even more. When games are digitally downloaded, the publisher has full control. Space is no longer an issue, used games dry up. Will they even have a way to rent games anym...

It's hip to go against the grain in this industry to garner web hits. Saying ME2 sucks or Uncharted 2 is bad or giving a game that gets universal acclaim a bad score to stand out from the countless blogs and game sites is a tactic alot of sites use. Then to keep the 5 minutes going longer, you can come back and complain about how the fanboys got all worked up and argue a while until your next article comes along to start the cycle all over again. You can also say a bad game is great, howev...

Has there ever been a game with more talk about going multiplatform than ME?

So soon? I'm actually just now playing the first one (great game), but still it has only been out since the summer. I hope they aren't trying to make a quick buck here and the game is high quality.

Just a way to make the product seem less expensive then it actually is. Sort of like those wonderful infomercials, "Just 7 easy payments of $19.99."

I hope this game doesn't become a critical darling yet a commercial flop. Publishers will be looking to a game like this to see if gamers can step outside of their comfy zones and plunk down money on something new and innovative.

Just the the other day an ex EA exec blasted EA for daring to try something like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge. How dare they put money into something that might actually be fun and imaginative instead of annual sports games and WWII repeats. Gamers ...
