The host asked if a parent brings home COD, what's to stop their 8 year old kid from putting it in the player and becoming a terrorist.
If a parent brings a rated R or X movie into the house, what's to stop the kid from putting it in the movie player and watching it?
If a parent brings in a pornographic magazine into the house, what's to stop the kid from looking at it?
If a parent allows the kid internet access without monitoring it, what's to stop the ...
I never liked the infinite enemy spawning that older CoD games used. It made it more of a mad dash for that invisible line than a strategic picking off of all your enemies to advance. If you give me a set amount of baddies, then the payoff is sweeter to eliminate them before advancing. There's no reason to simplify the game to accommodate a set amount of enemies. Alot of games do it and get it right.
The pin point accuracy of grenades was just annoying. Alot of times it amo...

I think the author needs to start renting games. I play alot of games I would never buy and if I don't like them, they go back in the mail within a day or so.
I just looked back at my rental history and counted 32 games rented in the last 12 months. I have a 3 game plan for $30.00/month and rent games for the whole family (we have all the consoles and handhelds in the house). That amounts to $360.00 in rental expenses. If I had bought those 32 games and let's say the averag...
Less sales means publishers will take less risks in upcoming years, so prepare for sequelitis and more of the same old same old.
Wonder if they could have held off until after the holidays.
Except now they know how to get Stephen to come online and respond to them in the future. Should have just ignored them and let the authorities deal with it.
A chimichanga is a small edible dog.
zzzzzzz... I'm sorry, i must have dozed off. Did Activision say anything interesting?
The people boycotting this game are in the minority and of course I agree, however even if 1% of potential buyers are not buying the game due to Kotick's remarks and antics, it still amounts to millions in lost revenue for Activision. That's irresponsible as a CEO.
I'm a dad and no one has to convince me to play :). I'm just glad my kids are young enough they can't play unless I turn it on for them :)
I would nix MGS4 from that list. You aren't going to win anyone over that is new to gaming with the story. It would be way too confusing and their eyes would probably glaze over during the cutscenes.
This one's easy. I play whatever Gamefly sends me :). Heck, sometimes it's a game 20th down my queue for some odd reason. I can't figure out the Gamefly selection process to save my life.
Didn't Activision raise the price because of development costs? They probably wanted IW to take the higher budget so they could justify the cost increase and when it didn't happen, they played that card anyway.
Why would they need a bigger budget if using the same engine as before? Development costs should be lower this time around.
Unless a Wii game makes the experience better by using the Wiimote in an imaginative and fun way (Boom Blox), then I'd rather have it on the PS360. Some games like Dangerous Creatures tried but failed and it just became frustrating trying to get the motion correct to pull off the moves. If Epic Mickey can improve the game with the Wiimote, then go for it. If I'm using the Wiimote as just a basic controller, then why risk it on the Wii where predicting what sells is like predicting weather....
Attack of the Show or XPlay?
In any case, it's well known Morgan loves R&C if you watch XPlay at all, but Galaxy is just as fun as R7C. My kids loves both and I have fun with both, so let's just be friends and call it even :)
What % of XBox Live users play Halo online? I have XBox Live and have never played Halo multiplayer, so they would lose my business if they bump it up to $100 when Reach is released. Let's say 25% have never played Halo online, there's a good chance they lose that 25%. On top of that out of the 75% that do play Halo, do you think all of them will bend over for that 100% price increase especially in this economy?
As far as Bowling, I don't think he is anywhere near Bobby Kotex's status. IW always makes the correct PR statements like "We just make games we like to play, we don't assume we'll get high sales." which is BS, but what are they going to say? As far as the MS logo at the end of the commercial, I doubt Bowling has anything to do with that. That is just MS tossing in money to get their logo attached to the commercial. That happens all the time and Sony does it too.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. PSN games generally get alot less press then their full retail brothers so a demo is very welcome, especially for 20 beans.
Halo:Reach will sell and sell big. I don't think anyone will argue with that. As far as attracting more sales of the 360 with Halo:Reach, I wouldn't expect that to happen. If a Halo fan doesn't have a 360 by now, Reach isn't going to be the tipping point for them.
Sony and MS are alot more than gaming companies. Nintendo's entire company is revolved around gaming. If the Wii failed, could the DS have carried them? Who knows, but if the PS3 or 360 fails, Sony and MS could still carry on.
