The people at the top is definitely the problem. I have beef with xbxox for sure over the drm attempt and such but I will give credit where its due, xbox sure as heck seems to have people who are passionate about games... unfortunately orders come from the top to integrate with every single other thing microsoft does and to trojan horse the living room and then you end up with the pr disaster that is xbox one.
Microsoft selling xbox would be good for xbox and for gamers
Why more people can't comprehend this is beyond me, from an investor point of veiw spinning off xbox can make perfect sense, the investors make money either way and in microsoft terms the profits the xbox makes are meager so its a none issue to them.
I understand that people love xbox but just because some people do doesn't mean that microsoft keeping it is a good idea for them...
Yeah it doesn't sound like whatever he downloaded was the actual day one update that promises to get rid of the drm... unless this is an infinity ward clock in requirement but its all speculation at this point.
This is enough of a blow to effect xbox one sales though... this will turn a few early adopters off for sure.
Unless its a check in thing... online play is active as long as you log every now and then to live.... he hasn't been on live for a bit and now can't play.
Either its a bricked system as you say or check ins are still active on this xbox or somethimg else is going on

If anything he has grounds to sue microsoft. I saw an article on here that said a lawyer had been asked about this topic and it was stated that microsoft had no legal legging to ban his account to begin with. Sure he may have gone against some kind of contract with ms but unless he signed away his rights to sue its a stalemate

It suggests that this is a microsoft issue not an infinity ward one, that said it may mean offline play enabled with online check ins required by infinity ward so who really knows at this point
I've been bitching abiut this for months, its about time there was an article!. Its sad that there will still be people who won't see this and won't know when they buy xbox one for kids at christmas they may not be able to use
I don't pay for any of those things actually... nor itunes or google play on android. Mostly for the ownership issues.
Take google play for example, on an android phone you can only download music you buy to two device's even though you will likely owm more than 2 android phones if your an android customer in your lifetime.... that means you don't get to keep what you pay for.

Microsoft need to learn how supply and demand works.... the consumer demands and the corperation provides. If thr consumer does not want a digital future then that isn't where gaming is headed.

Some of us are intelligent, yes. Microsoft are trying to limit the information available to the consumer to prevent them making an informed decision with their money.
Microsoft needs to learn that its consumers that drive industry to make devices that fit our needs and wants... it isn't up to any company to decide what we want for us.
Hell they even wanted to take away our rights of ownership with the whlle digital stuff they tried in the beginning... <...
They use drm as an excuse to get the sheeple to go all digital which benefits the corperations much more than the customer... all it does for us is remove a sense kf ownership and add a little convenience...
