Your point makes zero sense. If you want surround from HDMI then run your HDMI into your surround receiver and then output the HDMI to the Xbox One. Problem solved. I am not sure what devices you are using but my optical out supports Dolby Digital Plus, True HD, and DTS HD along with others.

The point that I am making is that the Xbox One is not a surround receiver and has never claimed to be. If you want even basic surround you have to have a receiver, it may be one of t...

My type of guy, forward thinking and positive on change. Something that is generally lacking in the human population.

There are a lot of people who do not have surround sound but quite a few of us do. I happen to be one of those audiophiles that @ElementX mentioned and I my surround signal to be sent directly to my surround receiver.

I want a clean separate digital signal run directly to my surround receiver via digital optical audio with no other intervening hardware of processing. Then again my surround system is worth about 10K.

"The Xbox One can still produce surro...

They did not want to be impressed either by the tone of the article. They are the first review that has been totally negative toward the actual function of the Kinect.

It takes approximately 30 minutes to and hour of use by each person that will use the Kinect to get the voice recognition adjusted to your voice.

They really didn't want a positive review so they did not give one.

I would rather have great online play than a free game any day of the week. PSN does not provide that.

The only reason PSN ever started giving out games for free and started with free online gaming was because it was so far behind Xbox Live. It still is hence the fact that they are charging for online gaming now with PSN+.

Now you get free games with Xbox Live Gold too so the argument is moot. Until Sony can pony up several Billion dollars which they don...

Yeah, you are probably correct on that.

@neocores I disagree with you on the games somewhat as there were lots of great AAA games on the 360. The real difference comes in for me when it comes to playing online. I have all three last gen consoles and if I can get a game on both the PS3 and 360 that I want to play online I get it for the 360. Xbox Live is simply better than PSN. That is the big difference for me.

You are one of the few Sony fans on N4G that seems level headed so I gave you a bubble up.

Careful, logic is the enemy around here.

Apparently you missed the title which would explain the reason for the first sentence. They are not shooting down the PS4 or saying it is not for gaming.

Sony has made several comments about how they are able to do home entertainment just like the Xbox so apparently you missed there message.

The article is from the view point that you can do gaming and other entertainment with the Xbox One.

I can see some people really getting into it. I will try it myself once MS and twitch finalize on the update for this app.

Don't expect any of the tinfoil hatters to use it though. LOL.

This to me is the best launch window line up I have ever seen. I know that most people seem to be shitting on Ryse but I have changed my mind and I am looking forward to it. Dead Rising 3 looks ridiculously funny. Quantum Break looks absolutely next gen. Titan Fall of course, I think that it could end up being ground breaking for online FPS' like Halo 2 was. I know that The Division is not exclusive but it looks awesome and I am intrigued by the smart glass integration in that game. ...

Do you think that this only applies to MS? It applies to anyone's servers Sony's, Google's, Apple's, MS', Amazon's, anyone's.

They also require a warrant. Can they get one? Sure. Should you be worried about it no. Like the government really gives a shit about your gaming habits.

Hell if you really want to worry about it they can access anyone's communications whenever they want anyway regardless of the console you are usin...

They can't PSN crashed and their are too many blinking blue and red lights on their console to see the TV screen.

Just a joke, not trolling. I seriously feel bad for anyone with any console that craps out.

This is absolutely the biggest Trolling blog I have seen yet.

"Xbox has put one last stake through the heart of any hopes they had for matching the PS4 live streaming experience."

Give me a break. Just the way this is written has I hate Xbox all over it.

They are delaying it so that it works correctly and is not a laggy piece of shit that everyone would be screaming about.

I normally try to stay level headed but ...

I like the design too and I also have a Samsung (55" 8000 series). It matches with it perfectly, even the minimal silver trim.

The size does not bother me as it is not much larger than the original 360 and I am quite appreciative of the fact that they designed it to be well ventilated while being whisper quiet. The power brick while annoying does not bother me as it only annoys me the one time I set it up. You never have to look at it again and don't have to wor...

I think that the most pertinent comment is on the fit and finish:

"While falling in love with Sony’s approach for the finer details, we couldn’t help but notice that less attention was paid to the execution of the PS4’s finishes. Even from across the room you can see the unevenness in the glossy surfaces, and blushing in the injection molded textured surfaces. The net effect: a premium price tag on a (seemingly) less than premium product. Ouch."

I personally see this as a demographic that is there but it really is a small piece of the pie if you expect people to lay out another $200 for a device that can remote play and say stream video.

The real market is there and it can be huge but it won't be huge until is ubiquitous across the vast majority of mobile platforms.

There certainly are people who will buy Vita but this really is too small a market for the likes of MS (the return on investment w...

I have a PS3 and a 360. Sorry to tell you that online multi player was always better on Xbox Live compared to PSN. PSN is slow, the interface is clunky and it just is not as good as Xbox Live.

I am also sorry to tell you that MS has had dedicated servers for Xbox Live since Nov. 15, 2002 world wide. Sony relied solely on developer supplied servers for online gaming until the PS3 was launched at the end of 2006. As usual while MS is on the leading edge of technology Sony i...

I believe that early adoption is obviously going to be slower for the Xbox One. No one would argue that point. That being said they are still going to have the best console launch that they have every had so I really don't understand the point of articles like this.

I am scratching my head here trying to understand why there is a suggestion that the Xbox One will fail. They have more pre-orders of Xbox Ones prior to launch than they had for Xbox 360's. How does th...
