I appreciate this way of doing business. I may even buy Lies of P now because of it. Where your money goes it's literally the only leverage we have as consumers to make a difference in an industry we all have an opinion about. Withholding it or spending it in the right places is about all we can do.
Ubisoft are so happy to shoot themselves repeatedly in the foot. No wonder they're struggling
As consoles coverage with PCs, I hope we finally see console online play not limited to paid subscriptions.
We're heading for Xbox and PC convergence. You're right in that a PC is at least customisable, upgradeable and more flexible than an Xbox and so at that point, why wouldn't you get a PC.
It will lessen though and possibly make all the difference if it launches in a state that rectified a lot of the issues people had with it. A LOT of ifs of course.
Consumer laws exist. Warranties exist. If the user had gone through the correct channels, this article wouldn't exist.
The OLED screen has almost certainly been held back for a planned mid cycle refresh. There will also be some element of pricing, if it had an OLED screen at launch the unit would likely be even more expensive and we've all seen how the current pricing has gone down with people.
The fact that they also rarely have any real expertise in game development compounds things. They'll look at what's been successful elsewhere, lack the knowledge to properly understand why they have been successful and then force a team to 'reproduce' their badly interpreted idea of that success.
We see it so often with sequels to games that were successful too. The team are left well alone, they have a break through hit and all of sudden the money men desc...
Someone's finally said it 🙏
People seem to forget that the Switch was $299 at launch which in today's money is roughly $400. That makes the Switch 2 a $50 increase when inflation is taken into account compared to the original.
Yes, people have less spending power on average compared to 2017 (Switch launch year) but this is not the MASSIVE price hike that people are making out Nintendo to be doing.
The term 'reactionaries' used to carry a derogatory weight. I think it's time we bring it back to snap people out of the conditioning we've all been subjected to by media outlets and politicians for the sake of driving engagement.
Yeah, only fake fans are poor. Work harder 'real fan'
A) Fair enough B) Fuck you!
He sounds like a stubborn moron
So, without the benefit of seeing the initial article, did the writer misrepresent or make stuff up that the above commenters reacted to believing it to be true?
I stopped my PS Plus subscription when they raised prices last year. No regrets.
As backlogs increase, day one purchases will suffer. Players have more reason to wait for a price drop than ever. Companies may try to charge more, players will ultimately decide what something is worth to them.
Game sold for money, big news 😅 What a a ridiculous article
I think people will be shocked at some of the systems and details in GTA IV that were omitted from V. There was so much more realism in the way cars moved, characters reacted to their environment (grabbing handrails to stop them falling after being shot), thunder effectively covering for loud shots when stealthing etc.
About time. There is zero fair reason why digitally distributed products that you cannot recoup any value when you want to dispose of them, should be priced higher than that of physical copies that entail all of the costs and the benefits of owning.
