"It has everything except for day one exclusives releases, which I think I doesn’t necessarily need." - nope... pretty sure that is a major factor as to why subscribers appreciate the service. Sony best change their Now service before they start losing potential subscribers.
They already have over 10 million subscribers per month to Game Pass. Earning them an estimated $150 Million a month/$1.8 Billion a year. Tell me again how that is not sustainable? And that was as of May this year... estimates are likely many more subscribers per month added.
You can go ahead and second guess Microsoft... but likely you won't be earning the type of money they are anytime soon.
Thegamer.com is bad journalism.
They don't even give any reasons in the article. Was this a complete joke?
@SolidGamerX - except for the fact we are already seeing some 3rd party day one releases on GamePass.
And we have seen even more 3rd party day one releases since they announced the push to do so.

@Ceaser9857361 - you didn't read his statement. It referenced Xbox 360 stealing fans from PS2 which it did. Sure PS3 ended up selling over at the end but it doesn't change the fact that fans Xbox 360 got was primarily a lot of PS2 fans that wanted a new system when PS3 had not shown up to the generation yet.
I contest that the use of backwards comparability is more a source to earn returning fanbase than garner new fanbase. Just as it was for Xbox One gamers that had a collection of games they enjoyed playing on their new system is the same draw for PlayStation gamers to return to their system with investment in games already made. This marketing scheme is not to garner new players but is more to keeping current player base.
PlayStation Now is also something that does not cater...
Souls games actually give you intentional enemy combatants up to each boss level that help you premise the nature of the bosses coming up. Point is on how each individual player chooses to take on the battles before each boss and if they choose to cheese a mechanic to get past or to learn how to fight them via keeping range until you can formulate patterns of their attacks.
It is completely up to the player as to how difficult the boss battles will be for them.
@skycaptin5 - because it's asinine to write an entire article that simply states the file size.
Well... looks like someone is a card carrying member.
@Veneno - Xbox One is not a numbering system. If you look at the usage of One in this case it means an "all-in-one entertainment system".
@Jin_Sakai - come on, deep down you just know that is not true. You thrive on every reaction from and Xbox Fanboy so it can feed your won PS Fanboyism.
They also did Rage, Dishonored, Doom, Prey, and the coming games of GhostWire: Tokyo, The Elder Scrolls VI, Starfield... has many people on the edge of their seats.
Been following Mike for some time now and your recollection of backlash for his gaming variety is not really representative of what really went down. A very few outcries ever for him supporting all games. Far more respect for him being a true gamer was ever seen from his fanbase and the xbox gaming community.
Just as PlayStation has a few warped individuals Xbox had similar instances but far from any kind of real backlash as you suggest.
The game by game basis was in reference to future titles being playable on Xbox One. All Xbox One games will be playable on Xbox Scarlet.
"XBOX is the summum of lack of creativity..." and yet comparably simply adding a number after each consecutive system is more creative????
The reason they did not use a counter method for naming was specifically because of PlayStation. They did not want an Xbox 2 coming out at the same time as a PlayStation 3 because of the thought behind the numbering system where there consoles would always appear to be a generation behind.
Pure and simple it was marketing. I lived in Japan during the period Microsoft tried to make a foot hold in it and they did near everything wrong.
Vast majority of that data relates to mobile users. Does not represent the gaming community that is more commonly referred to as gamers. For sure does not make up the vast majority of N4G base.
In hindsight this article really made Jamie Latour look like a complete ass. Why? Because Fortnite Chapter 2 appears to be the exact thing that Fortnite and its player base needed. And the hype the black hole created did nothing but keep the players on the edge of their seats.
I too had my doubts to how this would play out... but lucky me I wasn't dumb enough to write a complete article that made him look like one of the least knowledgeable persons in the world. (after...
