Obviously it 'got away'.
It means that the forced nature of the gaming industry has made it so digital is in fact more practical and better. And yes that future is being seen in many games today too. The point of the future reference was that in identifying it as a trend that will continue to be present.
and just because it is forced on us by the industry does not make it a bad thing. the upside of digital is just too much to compare to physical disks. Just as the upside to disks over cartridges w...
For me digital offers a better cost than physical... even upon release in many cases.
My gaming preference is Xbox One... thus my choice of GamePass allows play of even many newly released games at the price of pennies on the dollar compared to full retail costs. I can choose to play or even purchase said game on new release at a 20% discount. Or I could simply choose to finish the game and wait until later when it might be announced as a game that will be leaving the servi...
Just another collector trying to justify his collection.
FYI... on Xbox One it does not matter. If you own the game you can always download it again later even if a license has been revoked. Just can't purchase it on the market place. They still keep the download available for players.
I chose digital because on Xbox One my kids can play any game that I own even if I am playing the same game on a different system in my room. The sharing feature on Xbox One was a no brainer for people with families. Simply is much more cost effective. And I can play Gears or Halo against my kids playing in another room while I play on my own system and I did not have to pay for another disk to do so.
Not a problem on Xbox.
Never once had any issue on Xbox One with owned games and games license revocation. Games coming off the market place are still able to be downloaded as long as you have purchased it in the past.
@shaggy2303 is 100% correct on his thoughts on server and sign in requirements for most new games becoming a norm. And we will see it even more so when next generation systems come about.
He is getting disagrees because his facts don't actually add up to being truth. Even physical copies these days have a layer of non-ownership in that you may own the disk but with more and more games requiring server connection even to play them eventually even disk games become unplayable when said servers are discontinued.
And the value of digital sale has always proven to be very thrifty and depending on services offered you can get free digital copies of games that...
The future of gaming will still require connections to servers in most AAA games. The idea of playing physical copies of games long after a console has been discontinued will not be even close to the older systems of past.
Physical copies give the option of resale but digital and Game Pass type options make resale of games a far less valued option.
Digital copies allow sharing with family and playing on multiple consoles at the same time with Xbox One. ...
EA Pass is just a pass to old sports games you would never think of still playing basically.
Better choice than the Rock. But still not really an idea where I think it creates a movie worth watching. Gears has big suited people but that does not mean the people in the suits are as huge. I really think Marcus character needs an actor with acting chops that bring out his gritty nature. I don't want to be reminded of Drax trying to cut himself out of a giant space beast that has impenetrable skin every time I see him.
I would have to imagine that you had not played the games or followed any of the long story plots and actually lacked the context for it to not make sense. Or you are lying... because even Kojima has a hard time explaining anything.
Guy is a hack that people set up on a pedestal for the simple reason that he is behind games that truly have nonsensical story plot behind them and nobody has a clue most of the time WTF he is trying to tell us in his stories.
Games are mediocre at best even though they sold well. 007, Splinter Cell and Thief were much better stealth games that didn't inundate us with ridiculous trope filled story-lines that people were completely baffled about.
Right... choose a person that sounds nothing like ClapTrap. Why?
Let me guess... your next retort will be "I know you are, but what am I?"
That is like saying it is easy to make a stealth, crawl, hide shoot game and make money. It isn't like he did anything original other than his completely pointless story line. Because everything else he did with his games were done better with other stealth games. Guy is one of those people that throws paint at a canvas and calls it art.
He couldn't make a decent multiplayer game if his life depended on it. The guy has zero sense of story telling and gets a pass be...
Like Pacific Rim didn't rip off Godzilla movies and Ultraman? Power Rangers ripped off Super Sentai. And for sure Power Rangers is less the feel than I would imagine Gundam in the robot Fortnite created, or Voltran for that matter.
Always have and always will. Just a fact. there is a reason we see sports celebrities on sports game titles. and a reason we have celebrities voicing characters in game. And now the likeness of celebrities is so much easier to do at a level of actual recognition in games that it has become an easy way for gamers to automatically feel attached to a game or character.
