This is complete garbage. How do we put this on N4G? Complete waste of time.
"Look, this is legal. It’s maybe even arguably ethical..." - no one is arguing any legal or ethical stance in the article. Odd that your first choice of attack was to do so.
Styx again? Hasn't this been offered up already? I know I have it and I didn't pay for it.
@Apocalypse Shadow - point being that Sony has not given near any real information on BC for PS5. We do not know what type of BC nor how it will be supported. We don't know if it will come at an added cost or even if it will include all PS4 titles.
We do know what Microsoft has offered up. Every game on Xbox One is playable on Series X. It will not cost anything extra if you already own the titles and they are looking at ensuring even past generations are supported wit...
Sony also has a history of ending BC... literally taking it out of a generation system and then not implementing it the following generation system. And when they did bring back some BC version it was software oriented and not the hardware type of support being pointed out by Microsoft on Series X Backwards Compatibility with XB1.
Anyone saying no will likely come on here later talking up some PS5 game that looks more like a PS4 game and still call it the next best thing.
Really? And if anything Sony and Microsoft copied the other systems that did this way before they did on console. And Microsoft did games on PC decades before Sony even thought about joining the game market. https://www.filfre.net/2011...
@Loktai - who fumbles with batteries? I could simply change batteries while you have to charge your batteries 4 times or tether yourself to your system (why not buy a wired controller).
I though have the option to use a rechargeable battery for my system that also lasts 4x longer than Sony's poor 1000 mAh capacity... and I can recharge it in the exact same manner as DUALSHOCK 4 users using a USB cable or sitting it in a charging cradle between game sessions. Big differe...
@UnHoly_One - that doesn't appear to be the case with all such controllers. Here is a picture of Mass Effect button setup for Elite Controller and it maps the "Power 2" option which is pressing RB and LB at the same time to a single paddle on the back.

But a 4th the sperm count. (DUALSHOCK4 batt capacity 1000 mAh... 1 AA cheap rechargeable batt capacity 2000 mAh x2 for Xbox controller)
@Rude-ro - well this sounds interesting. Please name the New Game Engines that Sony has made and the games that have taken advantage of said engine to give them such a huge advantage. I would really be interested in the data.
So they added a dick bulge to the PS controller? What are they calling it the PS Controller bulge? Or ' The Package"? lol
You mean like PlayStation... 5? The name going forward is "Xbox Series X"... and yes there will be variations of Xbox Series X models to come... and each will simply be identified as example... Xbox Series X: Anaconda, Xbox Series X: Lazarus... etc.
@multiconsolegamers "Absolutely right, that's why Microsoft is moving to services only." - except for you know... all those game companies Microsoft just acquired.
How sad is it that the Demo Kit PS5 is the picture being shared in the media against the new released Xbox Series X image? Sony needs to hurry up and do a reveal for the PS5 soon!
Xbox Series X is roughly 7936 cubic centimeters. The old PS3 Fat was 9236.5 cubic centimeters. And likely the PS5 will be similar cubic centimeters as the Xbox Series X or face the same issue the PS4 has now with a jet engine sound for cooling.
Xbox Series X is the same depth/width as a controller which is 6"... and 12" tall. Which is 2 controllers on edge stacked. Smaller than your average shoe box.
PC gamers just don't get it. It is the fact you simply put the game in and play it. Not worrying if your PC is configured to handle the latest title. Not worried if the game will have issues with your current drivers. Not worried about anything but playing the game. I had been a long time PC gamer and never looked back when I moved to console only. It is just so much less hassle than trying to game on PC.
Microsoft will not be using a numbering system this generation or next. They have stated that a few times already. If anything they will simply follow the Series X with a colon and a tag name as they do game titles. Halo: Infinite, Halo: Reach... Xbox Series X: Anaconda, Xbox Series X: Lockhart, Possible they might simply replace the X with said name but personally not seeing that.
XBSX is the logical option following previous shortenings of XB1, XB1S, XB1X. And they equally said the same thing when Xbox One came out and thinking it would confuse seeing it was Xbox's 3rd system.
The only one crucial feature it really needs to add is a better battery. Anything else is just butta.
