You are missing the point. It does not effect you in the least if others play at an easier level than you might play in a single player game. So the option of leveling that would open up a game to more gamers is nothing but a positive. It sells more games which in turn opens up the Devs to potentially being able to make a follow up game.
The entire premise though of them adding harder levels is for gamers to be able to challenge themselves if they wish. Same reasoning is that many gamers are more casual and offering a less difficult playthrough offering is something that many games do... i.e. Witcher 3 offering up what they refer "Just the Story" difficulty while also offering up the complete opposite of the "Blood and Broken Bones!" and "Death March!".
The number of PlayStation users that are in here talking on how bad this is for Xbox is simply amazing. lol
And then most all of them acting as if PS UI hasn't been non-stop lambasted for its failed implementation on both PS3 and PS4 by its own user base.
I know right.... why can't they just give us a dull unintuitive UI like what PlayStation uses and be done with it. Why do they need to keep trying to make it better for their users? lol
@Shikoku - "No they don't, impressive because it runs a bit smoother than remote play and PsNow but it's not kick ass as it has dips in frames, audio problems and some lag and freezing kick ass would near flawless" well then where does that put PS Now in comparison...? Less than impressive???
Neither of those two titles came close to using the full power of what PS4 had to offer. They were good titles but nothing that brought anything in terms of the conversation of utilizing the full advantage of the system. The best either did with the power of PS4 was to focus on graphical quality that actually later has proven by Pro and XB1X graphic updates to games to be fairly easy when dealing with same architecture and given more power.
PS5 nor XBSX will see any game ad...
Go ahead and name me the first party PS4 games that came out the first 2 years of release. I'll wait.
And make sure said list includes all those games that they took full advantage of the power of the PS4 and wow'd us. Me personally we didn't see anything really until God of War 4 1/2 years later.
"But while I’m not a programmer, it’s probably safe to assume that the overall package will be compromised on Xbox Series X as a result..." - yep, not a programmer.
How many years after launch did PS4 finally give us God of War for it? 4 1/2 years? Even when we got The Last of Us Remastered in 2014 it was touted as something to hang our accolades off but it was little more than just a graphically improved version of what was had before.
Neithe...
If you imagine that Series X will not fully embrace the games on their Next Gen system then you are smoking something for sure.
Psst... also latest rumor, Sony looks to be doing something in the same line as MS with PS5 and forward compatibility. lol (look for February news event)
How is this even news????
Can PC still deliver next-gen type experiences when they still look to support PC systems that are at Xbox One level specs?
Been a thing for some time now. Creating next-gen experiences while catering to larger current spec limitations has been a thing for some time. Developers have it harder on PC with the numbers of alternate specs compared to the spec variances in current console systems.
And for sure the first few years of a generation has always se...
It has been rumored along with the price and Feb event reveal possibility that PS5 will also see forward comparability with it. Don't start circling your wagons yet... might be that Sony is doing something similar. so leave your options open so you don't have to bite your tongue on what was said when Microsoft was doing their thing and Sony turns out to be doing something similar. ;)
@Muzikguy - the level of difference between last generation consoles and new generation consoles is far smaller than the variance in scaling for PC. It isn't like they are scaling from Next gen to OG Xbox.
@specialagent4532 - you are correct in that it doesn't work exactly as PC as it actually is much easier on console due the fact there aren't as many variations needed as the PC.
Missing the point... having games for next gen that still have a playable option on older systems is far from a bad thing. Do you imagine it is bad for the gamers that they can buy said games for their XBSX with much better everything or simply purchase it for their current XB1S and still be able to play it later on their XBSX when they choose to upgrade. People keep imagining games will be gimped because of support of older systems but PC development has proven that simply is not a reality. ...
Now watch all the people that just this last week claimed the rumors of Sony not being at E3 as ridiculous now defend the choice.
I like how people are now calling it "not Xbox Series X exclusive" as if it really is an issue that we will be able to play them on other Microsoft platforms. lol
Point being that those gamers/consumers that have not moved onto the new system yet can still look forward to games being supported for their older systems. It is a win/win situation. I didn't move onto the Xbox One S until over a year after it was released.
This exact same argument comes out every generation when higher resolution is in play.
Why is there an EA Play image for this content? Doesn't seem to match the article in the least. The image when used in the article was far less representative of the article. Maybe the E3 image should have been more properly used?
Yep the badge of honors are in the achievements earned if they have them. you will always see achievements garnered towards beating the game at harder levels.
