Xbox still has publishing rights to Sunset Overdrive so they would not be able to remaster/remake the title without them. but they could do a Sunset Overdrive 2.
Then there always has to be that one guy that hates on everyone.

"Playable at launch" are they making fun of the PS DLC for Marvel Avengers? Which is still M.I.A.?
Nope. Let the 3rd parties do that if they want. And go ahead and work on the future titles that are going to be current gen only. But no reason to dedicate current gen to titles that are already in work and have last gen versions planned.
Gonna comment just so I can save this for later and come back to this after the show.
What? Did you not pay attention to all the games at the event?
What Happened To The Games From Sony's E3 2019? (Oh... wait. lol)
"PlayStation is officially skipping E3 2019, according to an announcement from Sony. This marks the first time in the 24-year history of E3 that the gaming giant won't attend the show, via Variety."
Sony is not even at E3... so what do they have to do with any of this? And what Limbo is Microsoft in? So the argument is being last gen is something that Switch has to their advantage?
@blue-eyedleopard - again you are wrong. You assumed bias because Microsoft answered the inquiry while Sony did not. Simple as that. There is no bias in the article as it was simply a reporting directly of Microsoft stance on the matter while Sony has taken/given zero stance on the Tech. You can keep changing your argument but it won't change the fact you are simply incorrect in your statement of bias simply because Sony chose not to comment on Tech.
@Popsicle - being open source though does not mean it will be used or integrated in PS5 in any way. Microsoft confirmed to IGN of their intentions with the open source tech. It appears that Sony though has not. There lies the real question... what are Sony's intentions with open source and is their lack of communication on the tech something more then what it is?
@blue-eyedleopard - take a closer look at each of the links on your list and they will reflect speculation on what the tech will do. IGN appears to have made an Xbox Series X report because Microsoft got back with them and communicated details on the matter. Maybe Sony should do the same?
"And today, IGN received confirmation from Microsoft that AMD's new supersampling tech will support the Xbox Series X/S." - maybe if Sony sends out confirmation of tech suporting PS5 then it will be written about? Clearly this article is written about direct confirmation and communication on the subject with Microsoft.
No bias. Just reporting when they actually have a confirmed source. Old school reporting instead of all this new school "lets speculate u...
I owned a One S and as soon as One X became available I upgraded to it. Why? Because I knew it would play games better. Then as soon as I was able to get a Series X I upgraded to it. My son who previously acquired my One S now has my One X. The One S will likely go to my daughters room. (as soon as they clean their room to a level where I think they can take care of the One S. lol)
Had I still been a PC gamer I would be upgrading my video card as they became available. Just...
Series X right now has exact same benefits One X and PS4 Pro had but more so. To play the games you play now at the best possible that you can on a console. And yes even with a few games that can't be played on the One systems.
If anyone has purchased their next gen system for only next gen games then you have paid a lot for very little. It is always a bit down the line before a good stable of games is available for a next gen system. No difference will be found here. ...
You can play Miles Morales for the millionth time on PS4 too. Point of next gen at this moment is to play games at better quality. Simple as that. same reason we upgrade our PCs.
Next gen games will come soon enough. Something for everyone. As far as I recall BC was not a high priority for Sony gamers. It has always been talked down from that side.
BC is built into the hardware of Series X and not so much PS5.
So when talking about B...
The games in question ALL were started many years before COVID caused any chip shortage. why are people using it as an excuse to why Sony is doing this?
Your statement seems to suggest all these PS4/PS5 cross gen games were made after chip shortage and COVID. They have been in work for many years prior. It has been known for a very long time that crossgen was going to be a thing for them.
Yes the issue is on Jim Ryan's statement but he wasn't the only one in leadership that said it. It was taken and ran with by Cerny even.
IGN basically did the opposite for Xbox and PlayStation. Difference being that Xbox has always been upfront about it while Sony treated Xbox announcing their strategy as something bad compared to what they are doing. https://twitter.com/AndreaP...
How do you imagine the game is going to be native 4K/60 on PS5 with BC?
Still needs to go through Microsoft to publish any versions of the game they have publishing rights to. Microsoft has allowed publishing of games outside their eco-system in the past when asked. Not sure what payment benefits they earned if any on those agreements. Sony has the right to do any sequel and publish on their own. But Microsft has publishing rights to first game contracted regardless the N4G lawyers in the thread thinking different.
