They needed more white guy playing flute stuff?
Listing Astrobot (a controller demo packaged in free with PS5) and Destruction All Stars in with the idea of "healthy cycle of IPs" then maybe you are focusing on the wrong games?
Your healthy cycle of IPs conversation has more recently been relegated to old IP rehash than not. Directors editions, remakes, remasters, what is next? Sony won't even show up for E3 or other shows because they have nothing new to show. and their own shows they feature a now Xbox o...
Vast majority of games today require servers to connect and download and play. Why do you imagine there was such an uproar and about face by Sony of the old system stores/servers being shuttered. And Sony with their "rootkit scandal" is no stranger to issues. Don't imagine Sony is doing any less with their DRM. They patented their own DRM Blockchain in 2018 and you imagine they did so for the fun of it?
Microsoft is one of the few companies still trying to ma...
"Think the best managed was limited timed exclusivity." Deathloop is timed exclusive. Sony tried to get Starfield as exclusive and failed. Xbox and Zenimax obviously did not put any non-compete deals in place prior to purchase during talks. The fact Xbox and Zenimax had a good relationship and talked on acquisition years prior isn't a secret.

Wait... Sony has PS Now with many more games than Xbox has on their Game Pass service... but Xbox is the one "threatening game preservation"? Why??

@mkis007 - you imagine Microsoft did not have anything going on with Zenimax prior to acquisition. And yet the deal was years in the making and Phil and Robert had a very strong relationship prior to acquisition. https://www.thegamer.com/xb...
Note the Xbox acquisition of Bethesda was in works for years.
"So this was a discussion that didn't just come about in months of time, this was over multiple years. We just finally found the right opportunity for both of us--from both an economic standpoint and where the teams were in their journeys." -Phil Spencer on Zenimax acquisition

FYI... Microsoft equally worked with Bethesda and their other studios for years before acquisition. Go figure.
When their last state of play focused on a game coming from Microsoft Studios you know they got nothing else to present right now.
Dying off for Sony gamers maybe. Because Microsoft and Nintendo are still thriving on the shows.
Both Microsoft and Sony sale their systems out upon stock. This has less to do with trying to get stock into the hands of gamers as it is simply marketing your offerings. If Sony chooses not to market then that is their choice. But in the gaming community it shows they have nothing to present. simple as that. Word of mouth is not going to do marketing for you. You are absolutely wrong in the lack of incentive for appearing at the show. These types of shows are marketing bonanzas.
As I mentioned when PS5 was the leading console seller. Each console sales out their stock. This is more a manufacturing and allocation than anything else as each system will sell out with demand. (this will only change once stock is not being restricted due manufacturing) the point though is the focus Microsoft is putting on stocking US market ahead of overseas sources that primarily have been seen as low support countries.
The person writing this article hasn't a clue. The console gamer is not looking at buying hardware that costs more than their current systems just to play on a small mobile screen. Just not what we are looking for. This hardware will primarily market to mobile gamers and those looking to ADD to what they already own. This does not market to the same console gamer that the author suggests.
If you are using wifi then try moving your console to a different location. Likely you are getting interference from its placement. There is absolutely no issue with connections on Xbox systems.
"video games are too long." - sorry but gamers purchasing games are not asking for games to be shorter. If I want a limited entertainment value then I would watch a movie. The idea we as gamers today don't appreciate longer play time then whomever is making the claim is just not your average gamer. Regardless if we finish the game or not we want the value to be there. We are not looking for short game purchases at full retail cost. Sure they charged only $40 because of the lengt...
Why are they referring to it as a "rogue system update" it was a planned insiders system update for those testing out system updates prior to release. It did not "brick" the system as it is still able to be reset and loaded anew with factory reset. Sensationalize much? lol
I have to assume you have never played Dishonored or have no real clue what Deathloop is all about?
Because so many were trying to compare it to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart which was releasing 2 weeks after it.
