People keep making point of the idea games prices haven't increased for the past 15 years or so. but the reality is that games are not the same as they were years ago. You used to be able to buy a game and get the complete game with purchase. But now the game is broken down into pieces where they sell you the introductory portion of it at regular price and then charge you for the rest of the game in installments with DLC, Add-ons, micro-transactions, deluxe editions, premium editions, bat...
Nope. A lot of work/time goes into a game before even thinking of putting it to the console coding unless it is dedicated game to a particular system. Even then the majority of work will simply be PC.
How did Metroid Dread earn the #2 spot? Really???
Japan has lost its console gaming market. It has near vanished. PlayStation is but a fraction of what it used to be in Japan. And though Series S is doing better in Japan then previous Xbox One showing Xbox is still doing nothing in the country.
PlayStation isn't focusing as much as they were previously on Japanese developers. And PS5 is just huge in the eyes of the Japanese market... as in DANG SHE BIG! Maybe why market has had of late an unusual liking to what they a...
Why not? Many of us play Left4Dead solo.
You put "the name isn't the best" after Redfall but don't put any such quantification to Anacrusis.... really??? lol
What made you think Contraband is in the same category as the other Left4Dead type games? It is only mentioned as co-op but has no given gameplay to ascertain it is just another 4 player co-op game. Looks to me like Contraband would fit more into a Kane & Lynch type game than not.
"I would have called MLB's bluff and declined." - and that is why you don't work at Sony. Had they done that then likely Xbox would have been offered the franchise and they would have brought it to all systems instead. Microsoft would have gotten the biggest media boost for the deal and Sony would be paying for it for years to come. Sony could not refuse the game on their system and if they tried to it would go even worse for them.
Basically comes down to voters when voting on Xbox game those not having a preference for Xbox voted for a game that might possibly fit their taste more. While when voting for over-all they make a different choice that wasn't split votes to other consoles. Boils down to choice of voting pool being different.
@CobraKai - if that is the argument then they would be saying instead "Xbox has no exclusives". The point is that the argument changes based on who is arguing and when they are arguing. The goal post changes every conversation. I can't keep up with all the arguments that get thrown down.
@neutralgamer1992 - solid example of goal post changes. Conversation obviously isn't on exclusives if you are listing MS 1st party games like 'Ghostwire Tokyo' an...
I cared about physical copies of games only up to the point where owning physical copies of games actually made it harder to share the gaming experience with my children. Digital allows me to play the games at the same time that my children are playing the game on a different system with no added cost of buying a second copy. I can play multiplayer titles with my son now with digital on a single purchase. That is just too valuable for me than worrying about having a piece of plastic in a case...
You never own your games today. Near all games are now dependent on servers existing online and support for them needing to be continued by developers/studios/companies.
And if you want to own a game you can do so at any point with a discount.
Starfield was labeled as "Alpha in game footage". So not gameplay but not really just another CGI either.
Sounds like Jim Ryan is tired of having to answer for his console war backtracking.
So only coming to PS5? Does this then count as a PS5 exclusive? lol
Grounded technically has not been released yet. It is still in early access.
23 studios. About 5 yeas development time on average for each. 4.6 games a year. Math adds up.
Psst... in 2019 "Minecraft was the top-selling game on PlayStation 4 in July, and has occupied a space in the console's 10 best-selling games list all year." Ironic it is made by Microsoft Studio.
And Microsoft has already stated it is already working on the next consoles. https://www.eurog...

EA follows the bad trend. Shocker!
The Series X reference is what the servers will be running on when using cloud gaming. Not the idea that you are playing games on 'your' Series X via cloud.
